what is spirituality

Internet:
Spirituality is a broad concept with room for many perspectives. In general, it includes a sense of connection to something bigger than ourselves, and it typically involves a search for meaning in life. As such, it is a universal human experience something that touches us all. People may describe a spiritual experience as sacred or transcendent or simply a deep sense of aliveness and interconnections.

Mine:
I believe that Spirituality depends on what sort of person you are. On a personal level, I believe that there are many different things that you can do on a spiritual level. For instants, I feel like I'm in a state of spirituality when I go skateboarding as I love the way the wind blows in my face, I feel at one with my skateboard it might sound stupid but I trolley feel this way. when I ride my skateboard i feel free and safe. I liked to think that when I ride my skateboard that there is a life lesson involved an example of this would be when I fall off my skateboarding do I just lie there? No! I get back up and try again that’s the same with my friends if I’m having a fight with one of them, I don't just lie there and hope for the best. No! I get back up and show the initiative and sort it out myself. Another example of this is when riding my skateboard I pass some trees that is the same case with my friends and I. You get friends who come and go.

Bible verses about resilience
1. Jesus Christ told us that we would have tough times, but He also reminded us that He would always be with us. If He’s always with us, then He will help us. Be strong in Him and seek peace by keeping your mind on Him. We must stop dwelling on the bad. Resilient Christians look past their troubles and put their mind on Christ.

Isaiah 41:10
2. So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Justification
I chose these two Bible verses because when I read them I feel excepted, loved and I know that God/god is always there for me when I need him the most.

(Song)When she cries

I connect with this song on a spiritual level as the words deeply affect me. It talks about the little girl being terrified and that
She'd leave her room if only the bruises would heal, A home is no place to hide and her heart is breaking from the pain that she feels. This really spoke to me as the 'little girl' would be me. This song connected with me because I truly felt that I was that girl, I was the girl with bruises and I was the little girl whose heart was breaking from the pain that I felt. I thought that I was the little girl because at that time I was in a dark place. In the song she sings a verse that really meant a lot to me, it was more than just words it was a reality for me.
these are the words she sang
Every day's the same
She fights to find her way
She hurts, she breaks, she hides and tries to pray
She wonders why does anyone ever hear her when she cries

Mass

Early February this year, Mount Alvernia held their traditional opening mass in order to welcome us into a new year of spirituality. Dr.Tuit welcomed us into the sacred space. Abby Pulu lit our Aboriginal and Torres Strait island candle. As a college we said the Acknowledgement of country to respect the original land owners to which this college is built. “Gather us in” started playing for the opining song. Father Mario greeted us then the house captains along with Abby Pulu our Collage captain light the college and house candles signifying that a new school year has begun. Once that was done Father Mario blessed us by sprinkling holy water on us with a branch from the olive trees near the entry of our school.

During the Liturgy of the word, we listen to several readings, the Psalm, gospel acclamation, gospel, homily, the profession of faith and prayers of the faithful. I find this part of the mass a bit mind-numbing and repetitive, hence I find it challenging to pay attention and follow what he is saying. The liturgy of the Eucharist is a very sacred practice which comes across as very inviting. I personally don’t know how I feel about going up for a blessing I kind of feel like everyone is looking and judging me for not being Catholic. Then again I feel loved as Mount A is a welcoming community and they welcome all types of religious beliefs.

Father Mario sends us off with a call to action; "We pray that Mount Alvernia will continue to work in God's mission, spreading the joy of the gospel through the lives of Saint Francis and Saint Clare and our foundress, Elizabeth Hayes". This was said towards the end of the mass. Father Mario concludes the mass with "Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life" before we sing the College song we try and do this at the end of every special action.
