It was good for me to read the standards again. It will help me focus on what my students are expected to know. I do not see any standards that cannot be supported through close reading. The questioning used in the close reading support gets to the core of these standards. Marrying the standards with close reading is a great way to create outstanding readers who are also critical thinkers.
