JDY/JQ/XTY A has been a volunteer with SPCA for some time. Recently, he finds that it is difficult to cope with both his volunteering work with SPCA and with TG Youth Group. It is starting to affect his health as he is often yawning due to lack of rest.

How should he prioritise his work, family, volunteer work at SPCA and TG Youth Group?

JDY B is facing problem with 2 ban yuan in the weekly PY Ban. These 2 ban yuan are often rude and make a lot of noise in the PY Ban. Their parents are permissive and JDY B has started to feel that it is a chore to go to PY Ban. He wants to ask to change the class that he is teaching but he also knows that if he does that, he will only be passing the problem to other JDY.

What do you think he can do? What do you think the XTY can do?

Ban Yuan C has just graduated from secondary school and she wants to contribute to TG Youth Group PY Ban because she is very grateful for the help she has received from the PY Ban. After a few months into being a JDY, she realises that she is running short of time for her revision due to her other commitments eg: CCAs, friends, outings, family. She is thinking of taking a break from PY Ban as a volunteer. (She has just completed xin jin ban ie elementary class)

What do you think she should do?

JDY D wants the Ban Yuan to think about their goals. She hopes that when BYs think of their goals, they will not be so aimless and she wants them to also thank the JDYs for their guidance, their sacrifice and efforts put in for the PY Ban. Hence, she started a project where she gives every BY a piece of coloured paper for them to write down their thoughts. However, she does all these on her own. The other JDYs and XTY though understand her good intentions, don’t know what she wants to do with the writing later on. When asked, she says that it is the reflection process that is important.

As a fellow JDY, what do you think of this situation? Will you do anything? If so, what will you do?

-if volunteering can change date, then can possibly work at SPCA on Saturdays or take some breaks for some Saturdays, otherwise the JDY might get a burnout

-discuss with the family on outing dates during weekends to allow JDY themselves have their own me-time (one can see their family everyday)

-work and family can be weekdays and TG youth group on Sundays

-reflect on oneself the level of priority of each activity, should two activities (SPCA vs TG youth group for example) have similar level of priorities but one activity needs more time (TG youth group for eg), then JDY should prioritise the activity that needs more time
