2019 PPQ - “Everyone thought Samuel had everything. He was a successful, young businessman and liked by his peers. Then the unexpected happened.” Write a story which includes these sentences.

Everyone thought Samuel had everything. He was a successful, young businessman and liked by his peers. Then the unexpected happened. Samuel was summoned to the courtroom on Friday, March 22nd, 2014 on allegations of wire fraud and tax evasion. As the hearing progressed a load of evidence was presented, but they were all found to be fabricated. The last piece of evidence, however, was found to be genuine: a sales report signed by Samuel himself that showed quite clearly that the allegations were true. Samuel was found to be “guilty” and was sentenced to ten years in prison. After the hearing Samuel approached me and said that he had been framed by an adversary who wanted to clear his own slate. After some brief investigation and interrogation, the adversary was tracked down and brought to justice.

https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fo_ohBXDACHHtAvgB50MMfMzlt8rEJBYbvdFnbBHFQI/edit

Write a story entitled, “The decision that saved my life.”

Transcript:

It was a wet, rainy day and I was resting on the sofa, reading a novel. My sister was upstairs in her room, and my parents were preparing dinner in the kitchen. Around two minutes to eight dinner was ready, and my father gathered everyone around the table. We were enjoying our meal when a sudden knocking started coming from the door. My mum went to see who it was, and as she unlocked the door two men barged in and started firing with their handguns. My mother, who was closest to the door, was shot and killed first, followed by my father and my sister. In just a few short seconds my entire family was lying lifeless on the floor. The men then proceeded to loot the house before making their departure. They thought that they had made a clean robbery, however their bullets only grazed the edge of my shirt, and by dropping to the ground like the rest of my family, I successfully convinced the men that I was also dead. A few minutes after the coast was clear, I got up from the floor and called the police.
