-Cunning and Reconnaissance: A military strategy created by Sun-Tzu that focuses on establishing mental superiority over your enemy. He does so by detailing things such as the direction of the military's advancement, the accumulation of knowledge, and the arrangement of bowmen.
-Ch'i and Sun-Tzu's Taoist beliefs: He believed strongly in Ch'i, a Taoist belief and applied it to his setting by not wasting time on useless tasks and using that time wisely so everything can be completed in a smooth fashion.

Yearn for Peace

This was one of the more interesting things I learned about Sun-Tzu. Even though he wrote a book on war and how to win wars, he had strong Taoist beliefs like the want for peace and avoidance of war. For someone who had won so many battles and spent his life fighting wars, his work shows that the best way to achieve peace is through a swift victory, or better than that would be to defeat your enemy before war has even started. "To fight and conquer in all your battles is not supreme excellence, supreme excellence consists in breaking the enemy's resistance without fighting," is something Sun-Tzu wrote, and it ties into his other quote about battles being won before they are fought and how that reflects his want for peace.

It is a truly incredible thing to see how Sun-Tzu's work affected the world for centuries and even still to this day. His military strategies have been used ever since he composed his work and have helped military leaders win countless battles throughout the years. Also, it was interesting to read about how it is debated if Sun-Tzu is the author of The Art of War because of the lack of records due to all the wars going on and the chaos from the decline of the Zhou dynasty.
