I made sure to look at the title to see if it aligned with what I was doing my research on. The introduction and summary helped me learn about what the papers looked more deeply into. If it related to what my research question is exploring, I added it to what I wanted to use.

I chose the source because it talks about one of my main research topics therefore it will be useful in my essay/annotated bibliography.

I chose this source because it was written by trusted individuals based on their background and education. The authors/researchers provided very deliberate examples and statistics demonstrating that socioeconomic status has an impact on children's access to sports.

I decided to use these sources based on the applications it would have to my research. If the contents of the academic sources would positively add to my research I added it to my list of sources. Some of the tips I used to identify academic sources was the authors, and their connection to the topic, and by using Google Scholar I am using academic sources that I can trust and will add to my research in a helpful way.

I choose a source based on whether it relates to my topic. If it does, I look at whether it is an academic source. If it is, I will look for the authors/researchers' qualifications and see what sources they cited to see if those are also reliable.

I decided that I want to use a source by if it had information that correctly fit with the question I was trying to answer. I also made sure that my sources were coming from creditable sources. As well as having varying backgrounds to provide multiple perspectives to keep an open mind.
