I loved both, the book and the film, although it had some differences. First of all, to be honest the book took a little more time, than the film, I am not a fast-reader. Second of all, main characters were 12 years old, in film they were 16 years old. The film also differs in Percy's powers. In the book, he is described as a more powerful teenager than in the film. I enjoyed both processes, watching the film after reading was nice, because I could compare my vision of the book and producer's vision.

I like book more (I think reading books is more exciting than watching films:-)
In my opinion, there were certain things the movie just couldn't get right that I didn't think need changing. For example, in the book, Annabeth is blonde, Percy is 12, and when the car crash happens in the beginning, Grover was supposed to be unconscious. While it was true that Luke is evil, Percy doesn't fight him at the end. He fights Ares, the god of war.

We like book more because they put together five books in two filmes. Books have certain things that film did not have. Books were better because we prefer reading. And the film was not that bad also.

As at first I read a book I noticed that the plot is different in the film and I don’t like it. If you don’t watch the film I advise you to do it because Chris Columbus make a great job. When I decided to watch the movie Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief, I thought that it would be like a book. but I was a little disappointed, because a lot of interesting moments were cut out of the film, and in general it seems to me that the film does not look like a book. I also didn't like the actor who played the main role, Percy Jackson (sorry in advance, Justin Bieber fans or just the one who liked this actor), but I didn't like him because he looks like a young Justen Bieber. but I liked the music in this film, like the AC DS song - highway to hell, and other pop songs. If I were asked to rate this film from 1 to 10, I would rate it 6 out of 10.

We think that the book is much more interesting and fascinating than the movie, because there are more details and events. Book does better at telling the story, because there is a place for readers interpretation of different situations, while in the movie everything is too straightforward, what makes it impossible to come up with something by yourself. That hinders comprehension and understanding of the story. This is why we like the book better than the movie.

The book is definitely better than movie period!!! In the book is so much better explained how it works in their god’s world and I like it. But if I must appraise something in the film, I would raise the special effects. The special effects, for the time it was made, is really remarkable .

Personally I would say the book was better than film. In the book the characters were twelve years old and in the movie they looked at least fifteen. Also there were lots of scenes that were in the book and not in the movie. I understand it, but they could have chosen some better. But at least there were good songs in the movie. Also I like the actress who played Annabeth.

Lots of parts in the film were different than in the book. They changed the story a little sometimes, some important scenes weren´t there and they put some extra scenes, that weren´t in the book. I know, that it is difficult to make a film according to book, but I was expecting something more. I think, that book is much better, but if I haven´t read it, the film would be okay, but definitely not my favourite.

Personally, I think that the book is better than the movie. Lots of parts in the movie were changed from the book. Also, some of the important scenes were cut out of the movie or there were extra scenes that weren't in the book. If I haven't read the book before watching the movie, I think I would have enjoyed the movie more. I liked the book better, because the world was better explained, but if I have to highlight something from the movie, I would say that the special effects were really impressive for that time. In conclusion, the movie was good, but I expected more.

Well, I personally think that the book was much better then the movie adaptation. The explanation for my point is that I think the Greek mythology and Percy's life is way better portraited in the book than in the film. The story in the book just makes more sense and is more detailed. But I think I have this opinion because I read the book before I saw the film so if I hadn't read it I would probably like the film more, yet it wouldn't be my favourite one. After all, I can't say I didn't enjoy the movie, but I still prefer the book more.

In my opinion, the book defintely won this. Of course, the film was really great too but it didnt let me feel the story as much, as the book. When I was reading the book I created my own look of the characters, places, gods, etc. The film sort of ruined this image. But that's normal when you read book and then watch film. But in this case, the film had so much different things than the book, by that I mean characters or plot. The first and I think biggest surprise was, that in the movie everyone looks older. In the book Percy and others were just 12 years old kids, and here, in movie, they look like adults and they are on high school. And I'm not even talking about the plot, which sometimes felt like a different story, not like based on the book story. The story in the film was just too fast, and I didn't have enough time to enjoy it. So at the end I would say, both are really good pieces of work. But personally I think the book is just better.

I loved both, the book and the movie but the book was a bit better. I read the book first and I really enjoyed it but then, when I watched the movie I felt like they missed out on the details alot which is such a shame, but I know it’s kind of impossible to include everything. I also think some of the characters were a bit different in the movie, but that’s okay, because there wasn’t such a key change that would affect the movie that much. Overall, the movie was okay, but the book wins without discussion.

In my opinion book is so much better than movie. In movie thay changed some of characters for example Annabeth has absolutely diferent hair color. Also they add in movie some scenes witch aren’t in book and changed the sequence of events. I think in movie they kind a changed message of book and place more emphasis on action then on emotional deept.

Reading isn’t my cup of tea, so I was more looking forward to see the movie. However, after watching the movie I was a little disappointed. I know it's hard to make a movie based on a book, but they could made the movie little more like the book. The book had so many beautiful moments in it, but the movie didn't impress me much. Probably it's because I first read the book and then saw the movie from which I expected the same or similar story.

I was very suprised, when I see the film, because there are many difrences betweeen the book and the film. I think I can say, that are difrent stories. For example in film is everything about the three pearls and there is not Kronos. Book story is more complicated and longer. I think the film is not for the book readers good. The book is really better.

The book was simply better. If you ask me why I have got a simple answer. Because in a book you have to use your imagination to imagine all the scenes and then when you see the movie it isn't what you expected. But even if the plot was a bit different in the book than in the film I liked both of them. And I really liked the actors they have choosen.

I loved the book and also the film. I watched the film when I just started to read the book, so I wasn’t dissapointed that there were some scenes from the book missing or that the plot and especially the ending was a bit different, beacuse I didn’t know about it yet. If I had to choose what I liked more, I’d probably say the book. Everything in the book is better described and there are more scenes that makes the story more interesting and gripping. I also enjoyed to imagine the scenery and the characters in my own way. Surprisingly, I didn’t have problem with that, even though I watched the film first.

I like the book more, because there are more details and conjunctions in the book than in the film. I think, the film wasn't so good (I gave him only 3 of 5 stars in ČSFD = Czechoslovak film database), and I don't like the plot of the movie. I miss some important things from the book in the film. I don't like either the choice of actors. I like reading books more than watching movies, so that is connected with my rating.
