20622 최한민

In my opinion, ageism is a harmful and unfair attitude, especially towards older people. Many companies refuse to hire or promote older workers because they think older people are slow, less productive, or unable to learn new skills. This kind of thinking is completely wrong. Older people have years of experience, deep knowledge, and strong responsibility, which are extremely valuable in any workplace.

Ageism forces many older people to retire early or feel useless, even though they are still capable and willing to contribute. This not only hurts individuals but also wastes valuable talent in society. By judging people only by their age, we lose the chance to benefit from their wisdom and skills.

I think that people should be respected for their abilities, not their age. Older people deserve equal opportunities to work, contribute, and live with dignity.

Older people are often seen as weak or slow, but many of them have valuable experience and wisdom. Some people even assume older adults can’t learn new things, which is simply not true. Of course, in cases like elderly drivers causing serious accidents, age-related issues should be considered for safety. But we should not judge people only by age. Each person should be respected for who they are, not how old they are.

20609박종찬

Ageism is unfair because it reflects deep social inequalities and creates division between generations. It often leads to negative stereotypes such as seeing older people as outdated which harms their self-esteem. This is especially unjust since everyone eventually grows old. A society that respects people differently based on age cannot be truly equal. Therefore, ageism is not just a personal issue, but a challenge all generations must address together.

Age discrimination can cause intergenerational conflicts, cause mental distress and self-esteem decline, strengthen stereotypes about specific generations, deepen intergenerational disconnections, and cause deep frustration and feelings of neglect to individuals experiencing discrimination. The way to address age discrimination is to strengthen legal and institutional arrangements to clearly prohibit discrimination on the grounds of age, and to provide regulations that can punish violations. However, even if a legal system is in place, it is difficult to expect substantial changes unless the perceptions of members of society change..

It is not just about talking, but about understanding each generation’s values and experiences with empathy and respect. I believe society should recognize each individual’s abilities and experiences regardless of age. If schools and communities offer more opportunities for different generations to interact and work together, many stereotypes and prejudices can naturally fade. I would like to participate in more activities that involve people of all ages and practice an attitude of respect without age-based bias. Through these efforts, I hope to contribute to creating a fair and inclusive society.

In my opinion, ageism is fundamentally a form of unfair prejudice that reduces complex human beings to a single number, and I think this is deeply problematic for several reasons. And I believe it’s a serious issue that requires significant attention in modern society. My biggest concern about about ageism is how it creates artificial barriers between people who could otherwise learn from each other. When we ignore someone’s idea because they are ‘too young’ or ‘too old’, we are saying their chronological age is more important than the actual value of their ability or contribution. I believe tackling ageism requires us to challenge our assumptions about what people can or cannot do based on their age. We need to create environments where ideas are evaluated on their own value, not filtered through age-based expectations.

20614 이승현

Some people think ageism is purely harmful, but I believe it is partly inevitable because of how society changes over time. Each generation grows up with different experiences, technologies, values, and lifestyles. These differences naturally lead to misunderstandings or biases between younger and older people. For example, older generations might struggle with digital technology, while younger people may not understand the struggles of living in the past without it. These gaps often cause frustration or judgment on both sides.

While it’s important to fight unfair treatment, we also need to understand that age-based differences are sometimes just a reflection of changing times, not pure discrimination. In this way, some parts of ageism are not always “bad,” but a natural result of generational change. The key is to recognize the differences without letting them become reasons for disrespect.

In my opinion, ageism — discrimination based on age — is a real problem that affects both older and younger people. Judging someone’s ability only by their age is unfair and leads to missed opportunities and lowered confidence. Older adults may be seen as weak or expensive, while younger people are often viewed as inexperienced, even if they have the necessary skills. These stereotypes hurt mental health and are simply not true.

However, not all actions based on age are discriminatory. For example, offering a seat to an elderly person or having priority seats on public transport is not ageism — it’s respect and kindness. Older individuals may have more physical challenges, and helping them is a sign of a caring society, not prejudice.

In fact, refusing to help someone just to avoid appearing ageist would be worse. Age-based support should be seen as compassion, not bias. We should fight true ageism, but still continue thoughtful, respectful actions for those who need them.

20613이승욱

In my opinion, ageism is a serious and unfair problem in today’s society. Ageism means treating people differently just because of their age. Some people think older people are too slow or can't learn new things. Others believe young people are too immature or not responsible. I think these ideas are wrong. Every person is unique. There are many older people who are very smart and active. At the same time, many young people are wise and hardworking. Age doesn’t show someone’s true ability or personality. We should respect people for who they are, not how old they are. Also, ageism can hurt people’s feelings and make them feel left out or useless. It can stop them from getting jobs or being part of society. I believe we need to treat people of all ages with kindness and respect. Older people can share their experiences, and young people can bring fresh ideas. Together, we can help each other and build a better future. In conclusion, ageism is harmful and unfair. We should stop judging others by age and try to understand and respect everyone.

Society tends to stereotype older adults as frail or incapable of adapting, while overlooking their vast experience and wisdom. This narrow perspective not only diminishes their contributions but also deprives younger generations of valuable insights.

Similarly, young people are sometimes dismissed as inexperienced or naive, which ignores their potential and fresh perspectives. The real issue is that age should never be a measure of one’s abilities or worth.

While certain age-related factors may affect safety or performance in specific contexts, it is crucial to evaluate individuals on their unique merits rather than assumptions tied to their birth year.

20619 전유준

Ageism is the ability to be treated or treated differently just because you belong to a certain group. Often, it is considered incompetent to be idle, or to leave the vacuum cleaner alone. This attitude is a human resource, support support that focuses the value and potential of the individual on work. It prevents them from exercising opportunities in the first place. The reason for being older is only in employment, so they often participate in important work. It exists in the development of the individual's life and society as a whole, without that ability and success. It reinforces external stereotypes and prejudices. It deals with the relationship between generations by setting up a distorted perception of age, such as "where there is age, there is power" and "young people have no responsibility." Accordingly, it is composed for individuals. In particular, members feel a sense of social alienation and connection, and their mental health can also be affected. It is an obstacle to social integration as well as health problems. Ageism is not just about 'age differences', but it is appropriate to accept social justice and the subject.

20615 이은창

Ageism, or discrimination based on a person’s age, is clearly harmful and should not be dismissed as “nothing.” It often targets older adults by unfairly labeling them as less capable or less adaptable, which leads to unfair treatment in workplaces, healthcare, and society. These stereotypes ignore the valuable experience and wisdom older people contribute, while causing isolation and reduced opportunities.

In the workplace, ageism can result in biased hiring, limited promotions, and pressure to retire early. This not only wastes talent but also limits diversity and innovation. Similarly, in healthcare, older patients might receive less aggressive treatment simply because of their age, which can negatively affect their well-being. Everyday interactions, like jokes or dismissive comments about aging, also contribute to a culture that devalues older people.

Some argue that ageism is not a serious issue since aging happens to everyone, but this overlooks how systemic discrimination creates barriers and harms individuals. Instead of accepting ageism as normal, society should actively challenge stereotypes and create policies that promote respect and inclusion for all ages. Recognizing that age does not define a person’s value is essential to building a fairer and more compassionate world.
