The skills that i will need to do a screen print is that i will need to know how long to put the light sensitive paper in the UV light for and how much ink and pressure needed to transfer the design onto paper. The cost of Screen Printing set from Home crafts is £79.99. The speed of Screen Printing is that it takes a few seconds to transfer the design onto paper. The mesh template that is light sensitive can lose its pattern if it stays in the light too long and can rip if too much pressure is put on the template. The history of Screen Printing is that the artist Andy Warhol used screen printing to make the Marilyn Monroe picture in 1962. Then in 1969 when they made a machine to help with the printing so that they could print in batches on clothes of the logos of bowler teams.

The YouTube video shows screen printing step by step.

The skills i would need to do letterpress is how to use that letterpress machine. The speed of a letter press machine can be quick but can be slow at the start as you need to get the right amount of pressure to get the ink on the paper and the pattern to be engraved onto the paper. The machine can have a paper jam or the ink starts to run low. The letterpress was used to make train tickets in the 1970s and the letterpress is used nowadays to make cards with a textured pattern.

The YouTube clip below show how to make a letter pressed innovation.
