Plan International is a global  organization active in over 75  countries across the world. They work with children and young women to help provide support and recourses  to help reach them be happy, healthy, and reach their full potential. This connects to our issue of poverty because lots of problems that arise with children living in poverty and the schools is that those children lack the important things they need to function properly and do well in school. Things like adequate heath care, and proper nutrition can be huge barriers for a child's ability to learn and focus. There are many ways to help through this organization. The best way being to sponsor a child to help give them the recourses they need. This organization partners directly with it's sponsors and donors. Answer: According to Poverty USA, there were 16.2% of children in the U.S.A. living in poverty in 2018. 
However, Kids Count Data Center suggests that in previous years, the number had ranged from 22% in 2010 to 18% in 2017.
