I thought my uncle will take me home, instead we were headed somewhere else. The roads were the same as my fathers workplace, Rana plaza. As we got closer there were so many ambulances and fire trucks. The traffic got worse too. Uncle drove slowly. The uncle who usually talks a lot and cracks jokes is surprisingly silent today. That's when I saw. My dad's workplace in crumbles. My mom was on the ground, wailing. My heart sank. It couldn't be. No. Impossible. With shaking hands and legs, I got down from my uncle's vehicle. Each step feeling heavier than the other.(Jones, 2020)

Few years later, after the leaving of my dad, it's just me and my mom now. My mother started working. Our home is never the same again. One evening my mom was cooking dinner I was helping her out. She suddenly got a call. It was one her friends that is working for the H&M garments factory. My mother put the phone on speaker and continued making dinner. The lady on the phone started speaking. She started talking about how her supervisor at the factory forced her and other workers to work for a long period of time, yet did not give them the right amount of money. She was saying how labor exploitation is very normalized and overlooked. " See how again and again this multi national corporations are negatively impacting our lives?" she added. (Afp, 2023)

After the Rana plaza incident, everyone grew hostile towards the H&M factories. People started paying attention and started noticing things. One Sunday morning, me and my mom were listening to the radio. And on the news they were reading about how H&M was caught practicing unfair compensation. And how this is one of the major negative impact towards Bangladesh caused by a multi national corporation.(Swaminathan, 2023)

It may seem like our country is benefitting from these Multi national corporations. Yet its the opposite. Our people and workers and exploited while the capitalists get to achieve all their motives. Our community is constantly working towards untangling the knot between the multinational corporation and workers. One day, very soon, we will be able to do so.
