I enrolled onto public services at Barnsley College. I did this with an interview with a tutor. I had an interview and explained why I chose public services. I arrived on time and ready for my interview.

It developed communication because I talked to them about what I want to do in the future we also had a talk about my potential part time job.

I arrived on time and asked all the questions I wanted to know about and answered any questions that they want to know about me.

I think that I could have asked more questions about the course and the people that work at the college but also about the previous student and the careers that they went into.

I did work experience in secondary school in a dance academy

This developed my communication skills because I had to talk to my teachers about my interests and and talk to the people at the school to be able to get in

I help the 5 year old to dance and have fun

I could have asked if I could help with work more

This developed my communication because I had to email the employers and in the interview I had to talk about my interests and what I want to do in life

I was made it on time and showed respect towards the staff

We got into teams of 6 and worked together to build a chair out of balloons. We aimed to make it hold a persons weight without popping any of the balloons. We all gave each other a role to do and one another we guided ourselves through it and in the end we made quite a good standing chair however it did pop but we tried our best by putting our minds together.

We also try and work together during out fitness as we all have to get into teams to work together to get each other through the harsh tasks that we are given from the teacher. I am good when remembering the instructions so that everyone knows what their roles are as an individual not just as a team.

we got into teams and made a contraption that could help keep an egg from cracking after throwing it out of a second story window. This developed my teamwork as i had to speak to all the people within my team and share all my ideas. as i was the most confident in the group I took leadership and guided everyone, so that they was no miscommunication. we could have made the contraption more stable in the end as it did end up cracking however we bounced all out ideas around, which was very helpful.

Egg parachute

i was the leader in a team of 4 and we created an egg parachute to stop the egg from cracking when being dropped from a 2 story building and we succeeded in the task as the egg stayed intact I was the person to think of the design and I was the one who addressed all the rules so the team knew how to do it

we created an app for the public service to use, i was the person within in the group that created the idea and the design of the app, there was a few things that as a team we didnt think about but overall it was creative and a good idea as the investors would invest in the idea

Volunteering for Popeyes

during the Easter holidays I went with my college to do some litter picking around the park behind Popeyes, we collected 17 full bag of litter in the space of two hours. this contributed with my social responsibilities as it means that the environment will be better.

Attending a talk

a man did a talk in college and he told us his story that when he was out drinking and ended up in a fight and his head hit the floor and since then he has been going to the gym and finding more hobbies to do in his life as he was lucky to survive, this gives me the idea to spread awareness to think before they act.

Planned a charity event

in college we are organising a charity raising event that will raise money for cancer research we plan on doing a few round of bingo with a few classes. this will contribute to my social responsibility as it will be helping people in need.

Dance school

When I was in’ secondary school I did two weeks worth of work experience in a dance school in manvers, I was expected to dance alongside the teachers and do any paper work that they needed for the up coming performances.

Fire service

When the fire service came in we first went through all the things in the fire engine such as UV detector camara and the animal oxygen mask. Then we went in side and did some training that they have to do on a daily basis.

She came and told her story about how when she was 21 working in a nursery that was attack by a man with a knife. She told us all about her recovery and what happened to each of the children effected. This made me feel very sorry for her and the people involved.
