1.What was your biggest inspiration while writing the book?
My biggest inspiration was Gregorio Fuentes, a villager that used to go fishing and take me with him.

2.What is your biggest life regret?
My biggest regret was not knowing that i needed help with my alcohol problem.

3. How many book copies did you sell when you were alive?
I sold about 25.000 copies

4.Did you expect to receive the Nobel Prize ?
No, not at all!! was a really big surprise that changed my life!

5.From all the books that you wrote, which one was your favorite?
Probably the old man in the sea actually.

6. Why did you become a reporter after you came back from the war?
Hum... By that time I was really sick from all the war and radical stuff and needed something to relax that also brought me joy.

7.How did you feel when you were rejected by the army?
At the same time that i felt bad about myself, i felt a comfort in my heart. And by today, i see that if it wasnt for that, i probably wouldnt be here

8.Did you have any inspiration from another author?
Yeah, some of the classics really helped, but an especifically one actually no.

9. Have you ever thought about not publishing the book??
Oh you know, sometimes we have doubts about our work and think deep deep inside if we should share it with others. But i do not, in any aspect, regret posting my book.

10. How was your experience working as an ambulance driver??

It was a really exciting experience  you know... i helped saving lives!! that' s not somthing you do it every day i mean!
