The 3-day seminar exceeded my expectations. I have learned so much not only on theories but its practical applicability in facility management. It also gave the participants insights and acquired strategies and skill in handling violent extrimist PDLs( inmates) and served as our guide in countering violent extremism and deradicalization in jails. The three-day UNODC–ICPA course reminded us of a simple but powerful truth: the best weapon we have inside our jails is not force, but communication. When we take time to listen to our Persons Deprived of Liberty, we begin to understand—not just their words, but their hopes, fears, and humanity. This course strengthened our resolve that genuine security is built on trust, compassion, and dialogue. Listening is where transformation starts.
