The first two picture are similar to each other and shows how the Nazis came into Soviet Union and how they are trying to conquer the Soviet Union and the last two pictures seem as if the Soviets have came up with some plan or some way to stop the Nazis. The first two pictures and the last two pictures are different from each other because the first two pictures are more sad and illustrates the Soviet Union being in danger and the last two pictures are more happy shows that they have found some hope into saving their country.
2.

America did not want Germany to take over Russia.
4. This cartoon also shows how America wants the German army and Hitler to be shut down.

The last two cartoons show how America does not want Germany to take over Russia and how Hitler needs to be shut down. I think that the average american understood that the soviet union was on Hitler's side at first, but they were just doing what was best for their country at that time. After Germany turned on the Soviet Union, America seemed to support it more.

I think the cartoon depicting the roast pig and saying how the pig was Adolf was the most effective message. This is because it shows just how much the soviet union hates hitler and how they want him to stop fighting.

1. All of the cartoons except for 'Bad News Good News' has the Nazi symbol shown being dominated or negatively in some way. The last one of Stalin serving Hitler on a platter is more to hype up the Soviets rather than tear down the Nazis as opposed to the the one where they are carrying the Nazi flag into a death cave. They're all obviously anti-Nazi, but some are more pro-Soviet focussed.
2. a) the first one with the giant Swastika is very dark and the words 'One by one' sound very scary and this image pulls together the feeling of the Soviets when they were surprised and being obliterated by the Nazis
b

The first two cartoons have a darker approach to the war and look incredibly grim while the other cartoons, though they show the realities of the war, more so aim to potentially inspire hope in whomever is reading it.
2. The first cartoon's message is that, if Russia is defeated by the Nazis, the Nazis will continue to take out other countries "one by one".

The Dr. Suess cartoons have a darker meaning just like the DRP ones which make them similar but the Dr. Suess cartoons look happier and his use of child like drawings make it seem like there is a brighter and happier meaning behind the cartoons.

The message of each cartoon is how horrible and evil Germany is. Each cartoon depicts Germany as evil and shows how they are marching into Russia and should be stopped.
I don't think Americans fully knew how much Germany was doing to the Soviet Union but I also think most people realized Germany needed to be stopped. I think these cartoons could help teach people in America that people in the Soviet Union needed assistance especially with what Germany was doing to them. I think they helped show the Americans that the Soviet Union was struggling.
I think the Dr. Suess ones convey it better because it catches your eye and with the writing it helps portray the message. The other cartoons seem like they have a lot going on and it is hard to tell what is happening because of the way he made them.

1. The first political cartoon is a swastika being dragged across Russia's land, crushing them or showing that the Germans have control over their territory. It also looks like the swastika is drawing a line, or maybe a circle to "trap" or close the Russians into their own territory (attack on Stalingrad).
2. The second political cartoon depicts that the Nazis will be defeated, showing the Nazi army walk right into the skull's mouth, maybe indicatiing death.
3. The third political cartoon might be more suited for children. The images are very simple and you can read out clearly what the author was trying to get across. The signs stated that the good news was that ths U.S. had beaten the subs, where as the bad news is that the Nazi's invaded Moscow. I noticed small vocabulary was used to maybe be more indicated to kids.
4. The last one you see Stalin holding Hitler on a plate with the tools on the Russian flag. Indicating that they defeated the Nazis and the Nazis serve their consequences for turning on Russia.

The cartoons drawn by Dr. Seuss like "Bad News, Good News" and "They're Serving Roast Adolf at Joe's House Tonight" have a sense of humor and shed light on a not so light situation, as the other two cartoons are darker in color as well as the topic it's depicting. The other two also have deeper meanings.

1. The main differences between the cartoons are the viewpoints from which the opinion is presented. For example, in cartoon by Dr. Suess, he portrayed everything from a comical angle, while in the others, opinions were portrayed seriously and with solemn darkness. The similarities between them were the fact that they all shared the same opinion of the war; Hitler and the Nazis are evil and should be stopped.
2. As I stated above, each cartoon is explaining to civilians that the Nazis are awful and ruining the world and they should be stopped before they do anymore harm.

1. The picture is showing Russia being beaten (literally and physically) by the Nazis. The thing with the nazi sign on the end reminded me of a torture tool that are used against prisoners, so it was like Russia being struck by the tool.
2. This was a hopeful cartoon as though it may look scary. I think it was the writer saying that the Nazis are going to walk into their death or the death of this raging run against Russia, because they are running into and being swallowed by a skull.
3. I think this Dr. guess photo was trying to explain how crazy and almost comical the Nazis were by saying good new bad news. Also, he was trying to downplay the actions that lead to many deaths to try to not scare the people.
4. I think this and the one before showed how much the Nazis and mainly hitler were hated.

1. Some of the cartoons take on a darker and more threatening form, while others try to bring humor and something people can relate to into a dark situation.
2. The first two cartoons showcase the severity of the situation and the fate that awaits if Germany is to continue conquering more land. The second two are to bring awareness to current event situations in a clear and less dark manner.
3. I think that these cartoons helped to illuminate the importance of the Soviet Union's role in the war, their brave fighting, and the effects on the rest of the world if it were to end badly for them.
4. I think the cartoon "And if Russia is crushed" most accurately evokes the fear that should be instilled in world leaders and encourages them to act.

In this one there is a swasticka(Spelled wrong) (Nazi) rolling through what I would assume as Russia, symbolizing the Nazis taking over Russia.
2. This shows the Nazis marching through Russia taking territory.
