When you’re on your phone or computer, you may think that what you’re doing is private. But sometimes what you say, see, or write can be seen by other people online, even if you don’t realize it. To stay safe online, you need to keep private information about you private. What kind of personal information should you not share online? Why is it a good idea to keep that information private?  

Some people choose to use things like names of pets, birthdays, or addresses as passwords. Do you think that these make good passwords? Why or why not?

The video talked about three ways to protect your online privacy and security. Pick one of these online safety skills and talk about why you think that it’s an especially important way to protect your privacy. 

1. Keep your password secret.

2. Don’t share any personal information when posting photos or screenshots.

3. Don’t answer texts or emails from people you don’t know.
