"Men and women whose early youth was shaped in the ordeal of the Great Depression showed the values for me in that crucible when tyranny threatened a world."

-Steve Buyer

Many people don't get the life of the 1930s. Most people had to sacrifice many parts of their life just to keep their plates barley full. Most Americans wanted to have a conversation with their state leaders. Demanding more jobs and judical action toward crime escalating in cities. Because of corruption, crime escalated without punishment and taxes went up without vote. This poem gives a strong description of what Americans wanted to say during the 1930s.

BY DORIANNE LAUX

Capitalism is ‘of the capitalist, for the capitalist."-Jerry Ash

The article below gives a description of life during the 1930s. It shows how racial identification and discrimination were the normal during these dark times. Families had to ask their children to help pay for bills. I learned that many business owners started paying lower salaries without even mentioning it to their employees. The government should take more responsibility for the cruel experiences people had to face in the 1930s. The economic drain and the racial discrimination made Americans feel hopeless.

While most families were struggling to provide for their families other politicians and state authorities would give into fraud and crime. The police in streets would accept bribery that escalated crime within cities. The image below will show a perfect visual description of "normal life" as a state leader or authority.

"The bank is something more than men, I tell you. It's the monster. Men made it, but they can't control it." - John Steinbeck

Life in poverty during the 1920's was very common in the United States. While most people were struggling to find a job, others had hope in loans from the bank. When the great depression started the stock market went down so banks stopped giving loans to most people. People were trying to find a resolution for this depression, but without government help it seemed hopeless. After a few years of agony, state officials started making a few changes that benefited the common people. The government should've helped the common people in the beginning of the depression.
