back at home we were punished by being beaten if we did something wrong and we never died we here strong and disciplined. So my opinion is that government made a mistake by removing corporal punishment. The only thing government should have done, when they noticed that corporal punishment was abusing some learners, they should have just implemented serious charges towards teachers who are doing so, now South African schools are just dealing with a huge challenge of disciplining learners, even if you can start comparing schools back from 2008 and schools currently, you will notice that learners back then were much disciplined than leaners in nowadays who are even fighting with their teachers when disciplined because they know there is absolutely nothing a teacher can do to protect himself from misbehaving, instead teacher’s going to be suspended or lose their jobs should they try to defend themselves. Most teachers will tell you that disciplining students is one of the toughest parts of their job, all I am saying expulsion of corporal punishment at schools killed future of South African children as they are slowly but surely becoming rascals that will end up in jail.  So what can we do as next teachers to try and limit this challenge of disciplining learners or what are you views on this topic?
