Only the Persian Empire did not attack the Lydians in its history. The capital Sardes was looted by the Cimmerians who were destroying the Phrygians and by the nomadic community of Trerler.

Under the leadership of the Persians Kiros, he ended the rule of the Medes at that time and took his land. The fact that the Persians were overwhelming and strong was minimizing their fears for other nations. As a matter of fact, this economically developed rich community was the first target of the Persians. It is said that Kiros entered the capital of Sardis in 546 BC and ended the rule of the Lydians.

The economic structure of the Lydian civilization was not only agriculture and animal husbandry, but trade.

While the origin of the Lydian civilization is mentioned in some sources, it is uncertain. Some historians say that they settled in the region with the Phrygians at the end of the Bronze Age.
Some historians have said that there is a relationship between the Hittites and the Lydians. They even said that the Lydian writings were very similar to the Hittite writings, so that the Lydians could be of the same origin as the Hittites. For this reason, it is possible that Lydians would be an Indian-European civilization.

Where were the Lydians established?
King Gyges (Giges), who turned the destruction of the Phrygians into a great opportunity, established the Lydian Civilization. The capital was called Sardes (Sard). This civilization was located between the valleys of Küçük Menderes and Gediz. The city of Sard was the richest and most developed city in that period. Giges' powerful army expanded the boundaries of the Lydians to Kızılırmak. In the time of the last king of Krezus, the Lydians had seized a number of port cities and strengthened their power.
