Stalin wanted to develop the Soviet Union from a "small, backward, individual farming to large-scale, advanced, collective farming." his reason to implement the collectivisation policy is to modernise the Soviet Union, in order to put the country on par with the other western countries, which Stalin once mentioned that he wanted to achieve what the westerns took 100 years, in only 10 years. To do so, Stalin needed all the farms to collectivise, give them tractors to increase the production and sell the grains to supply money to the growing process of industrialisation. Thus he implemented the collectivisation policy.

Another reason Stalin wanted to implement the collectivisation policy is to show the capitalist nations that communism is just as good, or better, than capitalism. this can be seen when Stalin writes "let the capitalist who boast about their 'civilisation' try to overtake us", strengthening his belief that the correct way to govern is through communism. to show it, Stalin gathered all the farms through the collectivisation policy and made sure that all of the grains produced in the harvests gets sold and earn profit for the country, meaning that all the things that the peasants produced were meant for the USSR's development. Thus he implemented the collectivisation policy.

With this, Stalin published the Pravda article to convince the peasants of the Soviet Union that the collectivisation policy is for the good of the country, and hope that the people will do their part to contribute in the modernisation of the USSR.

-amadia

ONE INFERENCE HERE. )where from individual farms they became kolkhozy’s . this allows for more efficient farming leading to more grains being grown and collected efficiently and effectively. as grains were collected in large numbers, the state collected them to be sold overseas to make profits to make new weapons and tractors for the state. hence, stalin had th e best inter

MEANING??) of how things work to be more effective by using machinery. this is supported by source A, “becoming w country of metal” shows that stalin wants the country to be strong powerful and armed by better industralisation. this converys that the country is becoming better and stronger benefitting the country through collectivisation. (Ok BUT MORE EVIDENCE NEEDED)

Source A tells me that Stalin implemented collectivisation to modernize the country. This is evident from source A "we have progressed from small, backward, individual farming to a large-scale, advanced, collective farming. " this showed that due to collectivisation, the country was able to progress towards from a poor country to an "advanced, collective farming" therefore, this shows that Stalin started collectivisation to modernize the country (YES, BUT WHY? DID HE WANT TO STOP THERE OR DID HE HAVE A DEEPER MOTIVE TO MODERNISE THE COUNTRY? THINK AGAIN).

from source a, i can infer that stalin’s reason for collectivisation was to improve soviet union’s economy (INCOMPLETE. IT'S NOT JUST THE ECONOMY). this is supported by, “we have progressed from small, backward, individual farming to large-scale advanced, collective farming”. this meant that collectivisation was helping to gather crops on a larger scale, improving the agriculture of soviet union. with the improvement of agriculture, economy in soviet union will flourish, and will help soviet union to be a “country of metal; an automobilised country, a tractorised country” or modernised country. thus, stalin wanted collectivisation to improve the economy of soviet union. (YOU NEED TO USE THE WORDS MODERNISE, STRENGTHEN, TO BE MORE SPECIFIC. This is evident from source A which states ‘progressed from small, backward, individual farming to large-scale, advanced, collective farming’ and ‘becoming a country of matal; an automobilised coumtry, a tractorised country’ This suggests that Stalin wanted to have more bigger plots of land to put modern farming machinery in the lands to have greater productivity of crops.
This source tells me that Stalin’s collectivisation policy benefits the USSR (INCORRECT BECAUSE IT DOES NOT SAY ANYTHING ABOUT THE REASONS FOR STALIN'S COLLECTIVISATION). The collectivisation policies is to increase production of grains which is a food source to the soviets. This is evident to “We have progressed from a small ,backward, individual farming to large-scale farming .” It has improved the economic conditions in Soviet Union and Stalin has the support of the peasants from “collective farm movement is that peasants are joining the collective farms not in separate groups , but in whole villages , whole regions...” To add on “And when we have put the USSR on an automobile , and peasants on tractors let the capitalists who boast about their ‘civilisation’ try to over take us!” Thus this shows that stalin’s collectivisation plans was to Build a stronger Soviet Union that suggest a more superior system and improve the economic conditions in Soviet Union.

This is evidenT from "an automobile country a tractorised country " (EVIDENCE IS WEAK. EVIDENCE SHOULD SUPPORT YOUR INFERENCE) Stalin wanted to improve the living conditions of all Soviet citizens by being more efficient in farming. This means that In order to feed the population, He need Soviet union economy to be more self sufficient thus he hope that he can achieve this through the increase production of machinery like tractors which is one of his reason for collectivisation.

I also can infer that stalin wanted collectivisation as he wanted to demonstrate the superiority of communism over capitalism by proving that modern USSR could out produce the leading capitalist nations (2ND INFERENCE ACCEPTED). The soldiers in the pictorial source look rather lost and keen on heading towards the path that is captioned " The way, Leading to your home!

This leaflet was dropped in South Korea to show that the US government is denying their soldiers their right to return to their families by forcing them to stay in South Korea to fight against the communist forces. This tells me that the Us soliders were forced to fight in the war (REASON?). This is evident from the source which shows a giant arm with a sleeve designed to look like the American Flag which is holding a gun. The arm also blocks the path that says "the way leading to your home" suggesting that the Us government is threatening their soldiers to make sure they stay in South Korea to fight against the North Korean and Soviet forces. This shows that there seems to be no form of agreement between the governement and their soldiers. This is evident from the hand pointing the gun at the soldiers which is threatens them from going back to their families at home. Therefore, i can infer that the source came from the Soviet Union and North Korea. L2/3

Thus, the purpose of this source is to convince the US soldiers that US was the one that was forcing them to fight in a foreign country and making them unable to get back to their families, so that they would possibly rebel against the US government, which makes the South Korean Forces weaker and therefore, it would help the Soviet Union and North Korea win the war.(INTENDED OUTCOME.

This leaflet was probably dropped by the North Korean forces to reveal the underlying method the United States are doing to force their troops to stay in South Korea. The message of the source is that the American GI soldiers are being forced to stay in South Korea to protect it from threats from the North Korea (MEANING?) This can be supported by an arm which suggest that it is from the US which has its flag on the sleeves and that it is pointing a gun at the soldiers, preventing them from going home. The pictorial source also shows an image of a mother and a child asking “when will papa be back”. These suggest that the united states are forcing their troops to station in South Korea (YES, BUT WHAT'S THE REASON FOR US GOVT FORCING THEM TO STAY AND FIGHT IN KOREA?) to prevent the spread of communism and the invasion by North Korea with support form the Soviet Union. This action highlights the intention of the united states to protect their own sphere of influence by sacrificing the normal human life of the soldiers and restricting them from being united with their family members. These soldiers were also forced against their will to go to war by the united states due to them wanting to eagerly protect their own interest. The North korean wants to convince the US soldiers that due to the United State prioritising their own interest in terms of economic benefits gained from sale of weapons , they will make use of the soldiers and restrict them from living their leisure life. The north koreans wants the US soldiers to go against the United states and not fight for them anymore. (OVERALL, GOOD TRY BUT YOU HAVE OVERLOOKED THE $ SIGN ALTOGETHER. THAT'S WHY THE MAIN POINT IS MISSED.)
L2/3

The message is that the soldiers in South Korea are being held there without their consent but instead are forced to stay there by US (YES, CORRECT INFERENCE). This is evident from how there are two sleeves with an American Flag holding a gun which shows that the US are preventing the soldiers from going back home to their families for an indefinite period of time by threatening them with guns and another with a dollar sign cufflink dropping soldiers into the South Korea. This means that US forcefully put soldiers into South Korea and keep them there by threatening them with violence. Thus, this shows that the soldiers are held against their will to fight for the South Koreans so as to ensure that Korea will not unify under communism according to their foriegn policy. Most importantly, american businessmen profitted from this war through the sales of weaponary thus this benefited US's economy. (CORRECT INFERENCE BUT WHAT'S THE REASON? WHY WERE THEY FORCED TO FIGHT IN KOREA BY THE US?)

North Korea (FROM WHOM?) wants to convince (VERB) the US soldiers (AUDIENCE) to rebel against the US government and not fight for South Korea as they are being held there against their will away from their family to fight for a country that isnt even theirs. Furthermore, North Korea did not want US to get richer through this war and by gaining the soldiers' support, it would mean that the americans would not be able to profit from this (FOCUS SHOULD BE ON THE SOLDIERS) causing US to retreat and allowing North Korea to unify Korea under communism and Soviet Union to gain some economic advantage on the US.
L3/4
