Adab in seeking knowledge

• Adab is important aspect in Islam. According to this topic, it is essential for us having proper manner to having right knowledge and have good practice

• These are example in seeking knowledge

• Respect: We should respect all the discipline of knowledge and acknowledge thatsome are more important

-Ask question: we need to frequently ask to our teacher or someone who have the knowledge if we have confussion in any question so we can learn . Dont need to be shy.

-Sincere:Be open to the way we learn and knowledge so that we didnt hold any grudges in our heart that can cause we hard to understand one thing.

SEEK KNOWLEDGE IN ISLAM

In Islam, seeking knowledge is a religious duty, and the Prophet Muhammad said that seeking knowledge can lead to paradise.

HADITH OF GABRIEL

• Hadith of gabriel is also known as  Hadith Jibril which hadith of the islamic prophet Muhammad(last messenger).

• There are sumarry core of the religion of Islam

So islam, this has been describe in five pillar in islam. Pillar in islam is fundamental practices in Islam and considered as obligatory act of worship for all muslim

Iman,belief in the existence and oneness of God which is Allah, belief existence of angel, existence of books,prophet and day of judgement

Ihsan,doing what is beautiful with sincere heart

• Muslim belief that Allah is one true God. We as muslim all worship ourself and praised toward Allah Swt

• Tawhid is used to describe the oneness of Allah.

• Muslims believe that all of mankind was created to dedicate worship for Allah alone. Muslims also believe that everything else that is worshiped other than Him is falsely worshiped. Hence, it is proven that belief in Allah is the foundation for which a Muslim's faith is built upon.

Belief in angel

• We believe in the existence of the angels of Allah and that they are "honored servants.

• Believe that the angel assigned with certain function

Belief in books

• We believe that Allah revealed books to His messengers as proof against mankind and as a guidance

• Believing in the divine scriptures revealed by Allah is an essential part of iman.

• We believe that Allah has sent to His people messengers who were "bringing good tidings and warning, so that mankind might have no argument against Allah after the Messengers.

• Muslims believe that Allah chose humans to receive revelations from him and pass them on and the last messenger is prophet Muhammad.

• The necissity of messenger is to convey Allah’s message, without the message,we are not able to answer our existence( because the purpose of our existence is to worship ro Allah)

• Prophet is mankind example for us to follow.

• Prophet Muhammad is the greatest blessing

Belief in the hereafter

• We as muslim need to belief there is the day of judgement

• That day,all bodies will be resurrected from their dead and all people are called to judge their deed

• This life in this world will come to the end, kiamat

• We will be broufht back to life and face Allah’s judgement according to our deed in dunya.

• Prophet has mentioned that, someone who did not belive hereafter and judgement day is equal to kafir and meaningless

• So the consequences of believing is, it can increase the loge formiting to Allah, the greatest joy a believer is to meet Allah later and most importantly is it can establish fear to Allah as we know every action has consequence.

BELIEF IN QADAR

• Qadar is judge.

• Component

• Knowledge ( Allah know everything, the detail of the event itself)

• Writing( our fate has been written in the luh mahfuz)

• Will( if Allah want it to be, then it will be)

• Qadar is something that Allah has plan for us

Ihsan has been mentioned in alquran 212 times

• Muhsin is attitude(sifat)

• Ihsan related to iman

• We can only archive true ihsan when we ask Allah for the guidance. We someone who is muhsin they are mu’min,.

• Ihsan is the highest form constituent  worship.

• Example of Ihsan is someone who sincerly doing Prayers or being grateful to parents

• If someone who is mukmin doesnt mean he is muhsin,but if someone who is muhsin confirm he is mukmin.

• Example of muhsin is Nabi Nuh.

• Adab toward parents

We as their children should treat our parents nicely and politely. As example Nabi Ibrahim A.S , his father worship other than Allah SWT but he still talk nicely to his father even though they have different believe. This show that no matter what happen, we need to make our parents as priority and put our respect toward them. There are many ways to show kindness to our parents and of them is pray for them.

Adab Toward Neighbour

• Prophet Muhammad advise to treat put neighbour nicely as we treat our family. But Prophet also highlight we should care more for the closest neighbour such as beside our house. So there are ways we can strengthen bond with our neighbour such as offer help when they are not home orrespect them if they have different religion

Adab toward friendship

• Everything that we do must have adab, same with friend. We should take this seriously because when we are too close with someone, we might forget our politeness toware them. So we should nice and best friend through we should loyal to them and put our trust to them .Next,we should act polite in our speech. That mean we cannot say harsh word to them.

To add some point, we also learn the purpose of ibadah

Purpose of Worship (Ibadah)

• To attain Allah’s pleasure.

• Worship is divided into two types: general worship and specific worship. General worship involves our daily routines. Specific worship is prescribed by Allah, such as the pillars of faith and pillars of Islam.

• Surah Al-Ankabut: To instill fear and reverence for Allah. Sincerity in doing acts solely for Allah.

• Fasting: Increases piety (taqwa), teaches patience, and helps restrain desires.

• Zakat (almsgiving): Wealth is not entirely ours. It helps those in need. Our sustenance includes a portion that belongs to others.

• Purify wealth: There may be impure sources of income. By purifying it, we ensure our sustenance comes from halal (permissible) sources.

• Hajj (pilgrimage): Obligatory for those who can afford it. Tests our piety. Numerous rules and practices help discipline us.

Conclusion:

In the pillars of Islam, there are many reasons and wisdoms behind each act of worship. Nothing is without purpose or benefit. They test our willingness to sacrifice to become true Muslims capable of steadfastly staying on Allah’s path.

Surah Al-Mu’minun

• Prayer must be done with focus (khusyuk)

• Khusyuk in prayer means fully concentrating on the act of worship and having humility before Allah.

• Prepare yourself for prayer

• Physically and mentally prepare by clearing distractions and ensuring readiness.

• Purification (Taharah)

• Ensure cleanliness from impurities (najis).

• This includes:

• Clothing: Free from dirt or impurities.

• Body: Perform ablution (wudu) or ghusl if required.

• An Arab Bedouin’s Example

• Story reminder: A Bedouin once asked Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) about the essentials of faith and purity, highlighting the simplicity yet importance of these principles.

• Ensure the place of prayer is pure

• The prayer area must be clean and free from impurities (najis).

1. Khusyuk in Prayer:

• Recite Quranic verses slowly with understanding.

• Avoid rushing through prayer.

Solat and Khusyuk (Concentration in Prayer)

Jihad in the path of Allah encompasses all aspects of life, as long as the intention is sincere. Every part of our life should be dedicated to doing what we are capable of in the right way.

Praying with khusyuk means overcoming distractions and ensuring that the heart understands what we are reciting. It is not just about the physical actions of prayer but about engaging the mind and soul in worship.

Tawaddu’ (Humility in Worship and Life)

Tawaddu’ refers to humility—understanding our position as mere servants of Allah and avoiding arrogance. When we prostrate in prayer (sujud), we physically demonstrate our submission and remind ourselves of our dependence on Allah.

Solat has the power to prevent us from committing sins because it strengthens our consciousness of Allah (taqwa). A person who truly prays with sincerity and humility will develop a personality that is more self-disciplined and spiritually aware.

In daily life, tawaddu’ means walking on this earth without arrogance, being humble in our actions, and not looking down on others. Even the way we carry ourselves—our posture, our speech, and our interactions—should reflect humility.

Muhasabah (Self-Reflection and Purification of the Heart)

Muhasabah is the practice of self-reflection—evaluating our deeds and thoughts. It helps to purify our hearts and develop a clear conscience. When we engage in regular self-reflection, we can identify our weaknesses, seek forgiveness, and strive for personal growth.

Iffah (Self-Restraint and Modesty)

Iffah refers to self-restraint, modesty, and avoiding sinful actions. It involves controlling our desires, avoiding things that displease Allah, and maintaining a sense of dignity in our behavior.

We should always remember that Allah is ever-watchful, like a divine CCTV that constantly observes us. This awareness should help us stay away from wrongful actions and remain steadfast in our faith.

Virtues Found in Sawm (Fasting)

1. Sabr (Patience & Perseverance) – Fasting builds self-discipline by teaching patience in obeying Allah, avoiding sins, and enduring hardships. It strengthens resilience and self-control.

2. Takrim (Honor & Self-Respect) – Fasting instills dignity by encouraging good manners, self-restraint, and integrity. It shields a person from negative behaviors like anger, lying, and arguments.

3. Rahmah (Compassion & Mercy) – Experiencing hunger fosters empathy for the less fortunate, increasing generosity, kindness, and social responsibility. It helps believers embody Allah’s mercy in their daily lives.

Fasting is not just physical but spiritual, shaping a person’s character and strengthening their connection with Allah.

I forever will remember this usrah session.

1. Ukhuwwah (Brotherhood) – Zakat strengthens unity by reducing economic gaps, fostering love, and ensuring no one in the ummah is left struggling. It builds a caring and supportive community.

2. Tawakkul (Trust in Allah) – Giving zakat teaches reliance on Allah, as wealth is a trust from Him. It brings barakah and reinforces faith that true sustenance comes from Allah, not material wealth.

Zakat purifies wealth, strengthens faith, and creates a just, compassionate society.
