We defined enthusiasm as the moment when the artist uses their music to evoke a deeper feeling of excitement and intensity and connection with the excitement in their music. Enthusiasm is important in music because it allows the artist to invoke a feeling of excitement to the listener, though ways other than just lyrics. Enthusiasm can be seen in music through dynamics, a performance, style, flow, passion in voice while singing, increase in tempo, modulation upward, adding more instruments, adding more voices and using unison. Though the easiest way to hear enthusiasm is through lyrics. Listening for these other musical elements that allow you to hear enthusiasm force you to look past just the lyrics.
