This article was about how firefighters are working on extinguishing more than 40 different fires in 12 states. California has been hit especially hard having nine different wildfires burning. While being in the months with a higher chance of wildfires, experts state that there will be more fires coming. These wildfires have led to 865,000 acres of land burnt and forced thousands of people to evacuate their homes to a safer area. Just in the past week three wildfires forced 5,000 Californians out of their homes. States also in the Northwest like Washington and Montana are also experiencing fires. 

  My connection to this story is when my dad lived up in Durango he experience a wildfire that broke out. He said that if you drive up to near he was living at the time the whole mountain would look dead and ruined. 

My connection to the fires concerning the West is my friends dad. He is a Denver Fire Cheif. He has fought in many forest fires. Including the Black Forest Fires. He has helments and uniforms showing the ash and smoke covered in his braveness. He said the fires are really hard to come close to even if he’s wearing the fire proof suit. This was my report of the fires burning up the West.

     A solar eclipse happens on August 21 and when it does happen it will change into many different stages.Also some say that the moon orbits the earth once a month.So when it does a solar eclipse can happen once a month.When the moon overlaps the United States then the United States will be shaded/covered.But if you go to michigan then the whole place will just be completely dark and you can not see anything.So when you try to look at the sun you will get blind.But this only happens once every 38 years.
