The American Dream is the idea that anyone can achieve success through hard work and determination. It's the belief that anyone, regardless of their background, can achieve upward mobility. The American Dream is often associated with owning a home, having a good job,and being financially secure. However, the American Dream means different things to different people.some believe it's about achieving personal freedom.while others view it as to give back to their community. Overall, the American Dream is about creating a better life for oneself and one's family.

The American Dream is alive and well. Mr. Kimbo my history teacher,is a perfect person to interview. Mr. Kimbo believes that the American Dream is the ability and the chance to be able to succeed in anything in life that you want to do. Growing up there were multiple things he wanted to become, he says " i'm pretty sure they were Firefighter, Astronaut, and policeman. Mr. Kimbo's American Dream is to retire and play golf without anyone bothering him. To kimbo the people who influenced him American Dream are his Mom and Dad. Mr. Kimbo's American Dream was to have a good family, a good home, and to be able to provide for him family. I asked Mr. Kimbo what his opinion on whether or not the American Dream is realistic to achieve, he said " I think it depends on how big your dreams are and if you can actually achieve them. If a person falls short of their personal American Dream I think they need to keep going even if they fall short they need to push themselves and achieve their dream that's only if they are achievable." Mr. kimbo opinion on if the United States was still the "Land Of Opportunity" he said "one word. Absolutely." I asked Mr.Kimbo if there was any advice that his parents have impressed on him and if he took their advice he said " one piece of advice that my parents tried to impress upon me was to always work hard. At the age of 11 I started to work with my dad, to help him out, and that showed me what hard work really is. So,yes, for the most part I think I took my parents advice, not all, but some. Finally I asked Mr. Kimbo to give me some advice that regard my dreams and he told me " to keep my dreams and to do my best to make it MY reality."

After finishing college, I would like to keep investing my money that I got from my father. I have learned from my step dad that investing in my money is the most important thing to do because it will allow me to have a better opportunity to have financial independence. Being smart with your money is also very important because it is always good to make informed choices for your financial situations.

After graduating from college I hope to start my future with a family of my own. being able to be financially stable and provide things for my kids that my parents were not able to provide for my siblings and i growing up is important to me. Having my future family being able to have what they need for school or work is also why being stable financially is important.

In the Of Mice of Men there are many things that happen that show the audience that the American Dream is alive and well. Of Mice of Men show a constant verbatim which is the rabbit. The rabbit tells us a constant vision of George and Lennie's American Dream. In chapter three, it tells up that their American Dream which is to eventually have their own land on, the fatta of the land with their own plants, vegetables, and animals. The rabbit is significant because it proves that George and Lennie think the American Dream is alive and well because they knew in the matter or a couple months or years they would have been about the achieve it.

For my article I have chosen this story from the New York Times called " The American Dream Is Alive and Well." They talked to Tamara and Chris Johnson About their opinion of the American Dream,“Our American dream is simple," Ms. Johnson said. “The rewards are not things, they are experiences — a meal, a conversation, a walk, a hug. Our American dream is not easy. It requires grit, persistence and drive. Our American dream is not exclusive — it gives. In our American dream no one is left behind( New York Times).” This relates to my thesis because it talks about The American Dream not being exclusive and it gives to people. It's important to realize that people out there now that the American dream is alive and well because it's not exclusive it inclusive its for everyone no matter race, living, or financial stability. According to the New York Times they did a survey with the university of Chicago and it came out to be a shock. "What our survey found about the American dream came as a surprise to me. When Americans were asked what makes the American dream a reality, they did not select as essential factors becoming wealthy, owning a home or having a successful career. Instead, 85 percent indicated that “to have freedom of choice in how to live” was essential to achieving the American dream. In addition, 83 percent indicated that “a good family life” was essential. The “traditional” factors (at least as I had understood them) were seen as less important. Only 16 percent said that to achieve the American dream, they believed it was essential to “become wealthy ( The New York Times)." This is just another reason on how different people think differently about The American Dream being alive and well.

This video by American Enterprise Institute is just one of many videos defending the thought of The American Dream being alive and well. It tells you that at one time there was a decline of people agreeing with the topic of The American Dream being alive and well. That soon changed after people realized that the American Dream is not just the thought of being wealthy. Many soon learned that money was not excluded from The American Dream it was just not AS important as freedom, education, and the right to own your own house. More and More saw that living their life as they want and have their own family is very important to the dream. With that many believe that they are either currently living their American Dream or they are on their way to achieving it soon.
