         <description><![CDATA[<div>Eugene Dubois, who was a Dutch physician, was interested in hominid fossils. He discovered a skullcap while searching near the Solo River. In addition, he found a leg bone after a year. He believed he had discovered the "missing link" which became renowned as the "Java Man. This skullcap (direct ancestor) is believed to be the link between apes and humans.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The remains of a hominid were discovered in Ethiopia's Hadar region in 1973 by Donald Johanson, curator of the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. The bones are 2.6 to 3.3 million years old. Lucy was the name given to the hominid that he discovered. According to her classification, Lucy was <em>Australopithecus afarensis</em>, and is assumed to be descended from the first individuals of the genus<em> Homo.</em></div>]]></description>
