The Harlem Renaissance was where African American people were allowed to be part of society. They were making ground on segregation by creating literacy work, music, and even art. It was hard enough for law enforcement to keep up with illegal alcohol, but now crimes like bank robbery, kidnapping, auto theft, gabbling and drug trafficking became common across the nation. This left law enforcement outclassed. One of the most infamous gang members, Al Capone, dominated organized crime for the span of 6 years. He became on of the most famous gangsters in the history of the United States.
