As many dystopian novels, Bradbury predicted the future to be mesmerized by technology and emphasized it by introducing Mildred, a true representative of what the government tried to mold everyone in the society. As their technology became more advanced the longer Mildred's were sitting in front a screen. It is the same way now, when Apple creates something new and improved, the cost does not matter and people go and buy it only to be glued to the screen all day *coughmecough*. This novel made me realize how dependent we are on technology, and hopefully it will help others to stop and smell the roses once and a while instead of looking at their phone/ electronic devices.

When Bradbury wrote Fahrenheit 451 in the 50's, it was society transitioning into the technological age--televisions, radios, telephones, and the like--it was the birth of the modern age, dubbed the "happy times." The 21st century is that aspect growing into new heights where technology is practically like the air we breathe. Fortunately, books like Fahrenheit 451 are still around to offer future generations knowledge and wisdom as a guide to propel humanity into a direction. Whether that direction leads us straight to the desolate future of the novel itself will not only be decided through our acknowledgement of the significance of Fahrenheit 451's message, but it will be from every living spirit with their own story told throughout time.
