This packet contains several very short essays. In his essay "Helping Students of Color Meet High Standards<" Ronald Ferguson discusses high help, high perfectionist pedagogies. In "Providing Supportive Feedback," Geoffrey Cohen presents research that suggests students of color receive feedback on assignments differently, depending on who gives it and how it is stated. Cohen argues that the moment of giving feedback on an assignment can be a key anti-racist moment. He goes on to present a formula for successful feedback.

Author and historian Ibram X. Kendi claims there’s no such thing as being 'not racist.' He explains that even inaction (simply being ‘not racist’) in the face of racism is, in fact, a form of racism. The idea of an innocent bystander is wishful thinking for Kendi; instead, there’s only racism and antiracism. This site features 5 key take-aways from Kendi's presentation at the Aspen Ideas Festival.
