Workers throughout US history (and world history, for that matter) have experienced the exact same thing. They have been deprived of connection, enjoyment, and satisfaction in their labor because their employers see them as nothing but another cog in the machine. Any time workers have attempted to band together (such as the formation of a union or the planning of a strike), they have been shut down by the government, under the control of the corporations.
