We have 60 ipads which are no longer fit for purpose - need to dispose. We have 25 that are beginning to become not fit for purpose. Ipads need updating regularly and cannot always accept the new IOS. GT-Mead

We have 18 new ipads in the school, we use them occasionally but need to explore more cross-curricular links to use them, especially in EYFS

We have old ipads and new ipads that have to be used across the year groups. Ipads for 1:1 children aswell. But the IOS isn't always updated. DC HW

We have 15 computers for the children to use. This is used for every computing lesson.

Benefits: Children can access the curriculum and practise their computing skills

Negatives: Sometimes our server is down which means that the lessons cannot be accessed

We have 45 iPads for use across the school in addition to 4 iPads per class.

We use Chrome books from year 2 upwards- lower down the school children logging in is a problem. We can complete most units of the scheme on these. GT-Mead Each year group has access to 30 Chromes

Each class has a class iPad, however we have a large number of SEN children at our school and have just introduced a specialised 'learning zone' for them. At times their 1:1 support staff are not able to access an iPad on the spot to document any progress or record evidence of learning

We have 15 ipads which are no longer fit for purpose and are only used as cameras now. We are unable to download any new apps due to them being too old.

Chromebooks across all year groups to use some are updated and outdated. But problem we have is charging them people not putting them in the right places or if an issue occurs they don't tell anyone. Some year groups are missing chromebooks which mean all children can't use one and then it's searching for the chromebooks that people say they don't have. DC- HW

We have 23 ipads, used to have 30 but slowly they have died.

They are good for research as safari works, but the software cannot be updated anymore so we cannot add new apps and we do not have the money to buy more.

We have a new ICT suite which reception, Yr 1 and Yr 2 can use every week. Reception are learning to type, use the mouse and navigate simple programmes.

We have 20 HP Probook laptops. We would really like more, or Chromebooks, to help with typing skills as we feel iPads are used much more which obviously doesn't allow for practise of typing.

Positive/Negative - children especially in KS1 tend not to know how to use trackpad on laptops as they are used to touch screen devices

We have 30 per class in UKS2 which are touch screen and are used in most lessons, in a variety of ways, however there is then an expectation to print off any work the children produce on it which can be time consuming. Children are really engaged when they use them. Great resource for SEN pupils who struggle with their writing skills.

LKS2 also have 30 per class but lack the confidence and skills to use them. Are hesitant as they also say the children do not have the skills to use them effectively. Have asked for some CPD and training in using them in all subjects and not just for Accelerated Reader or for research.

We have 30 chromebooks which personally I really like. I enjoy being able to have them in the classroom as makes it an easier transition for children to log in. Are portable so can be moved around easily. Keyboards are lowercase so easier for children to navigate

Disadvantages- some teachers are unaware of how to use them.

Scheme of work says to use Microsoft products whereby can only use google docs (unsure whether we can get word on the chromebooks).

We have a unit with our scheme whether children work on mouse skills. Children struggle to use touch pad.

We have a computer suite with 30 computers - only around 24/25 work - we have a board that connect to show pupils what the computer screen should look like and model, but staff don't know how to use it.

It is a constant struggle to use the IT suite computers because it is a long process to turn them on and log in, some year groups use support staff to go in and turn them on prior to the lesson but it is difficult for year groups with no additional adults.

I am currently in a bid with my head to raise the profile of our ICT suite as she is looking to remove it.

Each class in school has 6 iPads each. These are used every day and if needed for class teaching the year group shares. Therefore 18 are able to be used for a lesson. Each iPad is labelled so able to be returned to the right classroom. Advantage is that each year group can have different apps downloaded to match switched on computing to save on memory space. They are then used again more recently to use google classroom to be able to use slides etc for Digital Literacy lesson.

We have 2 sets of 15 iPads. One for Year 6 to support with interventions and the 15 for the rest of the school that's used for online practise - TTRS etc.

Positives -

They are portable.

We have recently updated them and our Apple ID so it is a lot faster

Negatives -

We find that our WIFI doesn't reach a lot of the classrooms so it means no one can access being online.

There isn't a universal app download option when trying to download apps to all iPads. Instead we have to go to each individual iPad and enter a code that's been sent to the Apple ID email address.

We've got 30 iPad Air 2s in KS1- quite old not supported by Apple anymore. Run by Meraki system.

Only have 30 chrome books in year 6 can be frustrating as we use a lot and often both classes want to use them at the same time. Often have to change the timetable to accommodate.

We have an ICT Suite which is used by some classes but not all. We have 15 computers in our suite.

Disadvantages-

Computers are old and slow.

Children share computers- so unconfident children can sit back.

Advantages-

Keyboards and Mice- children find this easier.

We have 4 laptop trolleys throughout school with 30 laptops each. These are very old and take a long time to log on and the battery life isn't great either. They do need replacing.
