Major Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist the classroom teacher in preparing the classroom environment and instructional materials 

• Assist in the confidential management of student information, including collecting assessments and reports, documentation of attendance, and data storage. 

• Provide quality supervision of students during room and recess duty on playgrounds and sports fields before and/or after school, during recess breaks and in transitions as required to maintain order, safety, and security. 

• Help students or groups of students solve problems and report behaviour issues/concerns to the teacher when necessary. 

• Work with individual students or groups of students across all disciplines to support instruction and student learning 

• Reinforce skills previously taught to individual students, including conferring with students and facilitating interventions 

• Assist with logistics and translation in interactions with speakers of Chinese during conferences, school events and activities. 

• Assist with the inventory and keeping track of materials under the supervision of the teacher 

• Additional duties when requested by the Principal 

• Develop understanding and support the implementation of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, Justice and Belonging (DEIJ&B) initiatives and related matters.
