By mistake the first three cars drove down a side street where Princip was standing. Princip fired two rounds at archduke, piercing him in the neck and hitting Sophie, his wife, in the abdomen.
----------------------------------------------------
This event sparked the domino effect. Austria - Hungary used this assassination as an opportunity to escalate conflict with Serbia.
---------------------------------------------------
It would fit into the social category because it was the assassination of archduke Franz Ferdinand.

July 28, 1914
Austria - Hungary declared war on Serbia. Then, since Russia is an ally of Serbia, Russia mobilized their forces along the Russian - Germany border on July 31, 1914. Russia moved its troops faster than anyone expected.
-----------------------------------------------------
The declaration started the chain of nations declaring war on nations. Allies joined together and went to war.
-----------------------------------------------------
This would fit into the political category because it is focusing on conflicts that lead to war.

November 11, 1918
World War 1 had serious and long lasting effects. There were over 40 million casualties world wide. 9.5 million soldiers died and 6.5 million ordinary people died during the war. World War 1 was the deadliest war of its time period.
-----------------------------------------------------
This shows that the war will have long term effects because there will be less solders to fight in conflicts. Also, there would be less civilians to produce goods. This would make everyone suffer in the long run.
-----------------------------------------------------
This would fall into the social category because it effects all of the people around the world.

June 1919
The treaty had provisions that included territorial changes and disarming Germany. Germany was forced to sign the treaty or face invasion by enemy forces. The treaty would make Germany reduce the size of their military powers so they are a smaller threat to Europe.
-----------------------------------------------------
This would make Germany mad and want to get revenge; however, with a smaller army it would be hard to go to war with Russia or Britain. The cost of another war would raise their debt higher than it already was at that point in time.
-----------------------------------------------------
This would fit into the political category because it was a treaty that they signed.

August 1929 - March 1933
The depression hit the entire world. Since everyone was still trying to pay off debt they could not buy resources that were needed to live. Also, they could not make any money because no country was buying anything. So, the trade was at an all time low.
-----------------------------------------------------
This would make the nations that were most affected by the war unable to repair the damage that was caused, since they were not making any money exporting goods. Because no one was trading, the economy declined.
-----------------------------------------------------
This would fall into the economic category because nations were not able to make any money to rebuild or profit from goods.

January 10, 1920
The League of Nations was a group of leading officials from countries around the world. They all had the common goal of keeping peace between the nations. Germany was not allowed to join since the treaty blamed Germany for starting the war.
-----------------------------------------------------
The League of Nations would help the world ultimately head in the direction of peace. Not allowing Germany or Russia in to the League of Nations did not help the world to peace because they still think that other nations started the war.
-----------------------------------------------------
The League of Nations would fall into economic systems because the League of Nations was trying to sort out the problems with all of the nations.
