1. Glocalization influence our lives. It lets global companies connect with people on a personal level. Glocalization also helps preserve local cultures by blending them with global trends. Lastly, it can also make cultures more alike, which isn't always good.

2. Cultural or media imperialism is when big countries spread their culture through media, like movies and music. This can make it harder for smaller cultures to share their own stories and ideas. It's important to be aware of this, so we don't just hear one side of the story. We should try to listen to different voices from around the world.

3. Knowing about global media culture helps us understand where our information comes from. It helps us spot if something is biased or unfair. When we acknowledge different cultures in the media, we can avoid misunderstandings and respect each other better. This makes us better global citizens who can make smart decisions about what we see and hear.

4. Yes, cultural homogenization has affected Philippine culture. We see it as foreign trends, like K-Pop or Western movies, become popular here. This can sometimes make our own traditions less visible, but Filipinos also mix these new influences with our unique culture.

1. Glocalization influences our lives because of the interconnectedness of different countries. We tend to adopt the cultures of other nations, which leads to cultural exchange. This affects the way we live, our lifestyles, and even our perspectives. As we adapt to their cultures, our own views and standards also begin to change.

2.Cultural imperialism affects the flow of information because we are gradually being influenced by other countries through the adoption of their culture. In terms of media imperialism, people often want to follow trends from other nations, imitating their way of life,

for example, their fashion styles. Many of us prefer Western culture over our local one, which affects how we perceive and share information.

3.Because of global media culture, we have the opportunity to be aware of issues and events happening in our country and around the world. It allows us to access reliable facts and information, helping us become more responsible individuals. It also gives us the ability to share our knowledge and opinions with others through different media platforms.

4.Yes, cultural homogenization affects our local cultures in the Philippines. Our traditional standards and practices are slowly changing, and we tend to value Western culture more than our own. As a result, some aspects of our local culture are being forgotten or replaced by foreign influences.

Media imperialism controls the flow of information since powerful countries dominate TV, movies, and news, shaping how we think. Back then, during Spanish and American colonization, Filipinos were taught to follow foreign beliefs and forget their native identity—especially in religion and the education system. Understanding global media culture is important because it helps us recognize where information comes from and how it shapes our beliefs.

1. GLOCALIZATION is like a bridge that connects the global and the local in everyday life. It allows people to enjoy global ideas and products while keeping their own cultural identity alive. For example, a local dish might get a global twist but still reflect the community’s traditions. This makes life richer because it mixes new and familiar in ways that feel personal. It helps people stay connected to both their roots and the wider world.

2. CULTURAL OR MEDIA IMPERIALISM shapes what information people receive by making certain cultures and ideas more dominant in media around the world. This often means that powerful countries control the stories and values we see, which can limit diverse perspectives. It influences how people think by promoting one culture’s way of life as the “standard.” This can make other cultures feel less important or invisible, which affects what knowledge is shared and valued.

3. Knowing GLOBAL MEDIA CULTURE is important because it helps us understand where information comes from and whose voices are included or ignored. It shows us how media trends, values, and messages travel across borders and influence people worldwide. Acknowledging this helps us become smarter consumers of information who question biases and seek diverse viewpoints. In a connected world, this awareness supports fairness and deeper cultural respect in how we share and receive news.

4. CULTURAL HOMOGENIZATION has influenced local cultures in the Philippines by blending traditional Filipino ways with global trends. Sometimes, this means younger generations favor foreign music, fashion, or language over native ones, which can weaken local identity. However, it also creates new cultural expressions combining the old and new. While it brings exciting changes, it’s important to protect and celebrate Filipino heritage to keep it alive.

1. Globalization impacts people by making the world more interconnected through trade, technology, and culture. It provides easier access to products, jobs, and information but also generates competition and the loss of certain traditions. Cultural or media imperialism influences the flow of information by prioritizing content from dominant nations, often resulting in a one-way exchange of values and perspectives. This dominance overshadows local cultures and narratives, reducing diversity in global communication. Understanding global media culture is important because it helps us comprehend how information is shared and influenced worldwide. By being aware, we can identify biases while still appreciating our own culture. This knowledge enables us to become more discerning media consumers and fosters respect for diversity in a globalized world.

4. Yes, cultural homogenization has impacted local cultures in the Philippines by introducing foreign influences that sometimes overshadow traditional practices. Many Filipinos now celebrate Western holidays, prefer global brands, and use English more frequently than local languages.

1. In any aspect, how does glocalization influence the life of people?

Glocalization means mixing global ideas with local culture. It helps people enjoy new things from other countries while keeping their own traditions. For example, fast-food chains like McDonald’s add Filipino meals such as McSpaghetti to their menu. This shows how global brands adjust to local tastes. It makes life more convenient and fun while still keeping culture alive.

2. How does Cultural or Media Imperialism influence the flow of information?

Cultural or Media Imperialism happens when powerful countries control what people see in media. They spread their culture, beliefs, and way of life through movies, music, and social media. This makes people follow foreign trends and forget their own traditions. Information becomes one-sided and focused on Western ideas. Because of this, local cultures can slowly lose their importance.

3. What is the importance of knowing the Global Media Culture in flow of information? Why is it important to acknowledge?

Knowing Global Media Culture helps us understand how information affects people around the world. It teaches us to think carefully about what we see and hear in the media. We learn to respect other cultures while protecting our own. This also helps us identify fake news or biased information. Being aware of it makes us smarter and more responsible media users.

4. Did cultural homogenization affect our local cultures here in the Philippines? How?

Yes, cultural homogenization has changed our local culture in many ways. Many Filipinos now follow Western styles, food, and entertainment. This makes some people forget about traditional Filipino customs and values. However, it also helps us connect with other countries and share ideas. We just need to balance modernization with love for our own culture.

1. As combining regional foods and customs with international cuisines, glocalization changes food systems. To create new culinary identities, fusion restaurants in Mexico City, for instance, sell sushi tacos that combine Mexican tortillas, spicy salsas, and Japanese sushi techniques. In order to appeal to both domestic and foreign customers, artisanal pasta manufacturers in Italy employ traditional techniques while experimenting with international flavors like matcha or kimchi. Through exports and tourism, this invention promotes economic prosperity while preserving culinary history.

2. Cultural imperialism shapes mental health discourse by promoting Western diagnostic frameworks and treatments over indigenous practices. In many African countries, traditional healing methods (e.g., herbal medicine, community rituals) are often marginalized in favor of Western psychotherapy or medication. This can lead to misdiagnosis and ineffective care, as mental health is deeply culturally embedded. However, movements like the "decolonization of psychology" in South Africa advocate for integrating local knowledge into mental health systems, challenging this one-sided approach.

3. Global media culture expands access to information but also creates digital divides. While urban populations in the Philippines can access real-time news via social media, rural communities with limited internet connectivity rely on traditional media like radio, leading to unequal access to critical updates during disasters. Initiatives like Google’s "Project Loon" aimed to bridge this gap by providing internet via balloons, highlighting how global media can address inequality, if designed with local needs in m

ind.

Saladaga, Jerelyn M.

1. Globalization is the interconnectedness of different countries and it bridges the different aspect that is influence by it. It influence one's life in terms of political, economical and of course cultural. For example how people dress, their choice of food and even the media content they want.

2. The cultural and media imperialism influence the flow of information in terms of how people communicate and share ideas. In cultural imperialism, before we have ways to communicate with others for example the use of baybayin as our way of writing and also we have our own abakada, but because we are colonized by different nationalities we adapt different practices to communicate, american has a big impact on how we communicate now, from abakada turns into alphabet, and of course the use of english language as our official language. Meanwhile, the media imperialism is very relevant in our country because most of us preferred the western movies and especially kdrama's and cdramas. In that way because of the films, movies that we mostly watched we want to learn how they speak, like the korean and japanase languange.

3. Global media culture is important because we were able to know the background of how these practice we have came from. How this shaped us as a person, and how it influence us. In additional, it helps to share the differences of each culture, or should we say the cultural exchange. The opportunities we have because of the relationship we built from different countries, it provides job opportunities. Its importance lies in its power to foster cultural understanding, shape individual and collective identities, and create new economic opportunities.

1. Globalization affects the lives of people by allowing them to share their ideas, culture, and knowledge with others. Because of this, as a country becomes more well-known, it gains more opportunities for its culture to be recognized and understood by other nations. This also helps their culture grow and become more popular, as it serves as a way for people to appreciate and learn more about it.

2.Cultural or Media Imperialism happens when rich countries have a stronger influence with the help of media. For example, by releasing movies or through the shows we watch on TV. Because of this, we become more familiar with their culture, while our own culture is sometimes ignored. We start to adopt their culture, which affects us by changing or copying their ways instead of valuing our own Filipino traditions.

3. It is important to study Global Media Culture so that we can understand how information is shared or spread around the world. This helps us become more aware of what we see and read online. We can also know if other countries have the same beliefs as we do. In this way, we can decide whether to adopt something or not. It is important because it helps us become more aware and knowledgeable about information before we accept or support it.

4.Yes, cultural homogenization has affected our culture in the Philippines. We can see that other countries have a big impact on us, especially in technology, media, music, and films. Since we now live in a modern world, many young people prefer and follow foreign cultures just to keep up with trends. Because of this, our own Filipino culture is not given much attention and is sometimes forgotten because of the influence of other countries.

Mariane Imperial Dalisay

BTLED HE 1A
