Personally I feel that this seminar helped me become even more aware of my practice of inclusion. Sometimes I struggle with having foreign students who are unable to express themselves ...tools which were used in the seminar, most particularly drama is a good way to have everyone participate even though there are language barriers.

Romina Baldacchino - kinder teacher

'Culture is not just folklore' was one of the subjects discussed during the seminar. It was very interesting and helped me understand even more that people, in our case students, sometimes find it difficult to integrate with others, thus making inclusion more difficult. This workshop helped me analyse how I can be a tool to reduce these conflicts or to join these differences to have a final product.
Miriam Ellul
- LSA primary
St Ignatius

What impressed me the most was that:
- The eTwinning projects and activities presented during the conference gave pupils the skills and competencies needed to cope in our ever changing society.

- These projects highlighted the fact that building inclusion in education is an on-going process, rather than a one-time effort.

Elizabeth Jones
Asst.

This Conference was fruitful in many ways. Perhaps what stuck with me most is the fact that "Inclusion" does not simply mean the placement of students in mainstream education classes. Inclusive education can only be successful when those students feel that they are truly a part of the school community and for us educators to achieve this we must incorporate fundamental change in the way our school community supports the individual needs of each child, we need to have an open and honest discussion about difference, and start off by fostering an institutional respect for people of all backgrounds and abilities.

Elaine Xuereb- Teacher
MRC Middle School Naxxar

I think that sometimes Inclusion is taken for granted just by putting all students into the same classroom. This conference enabled me to reflect deeply about making inclusion work. I really liked Mark Penfield's presentation - it set an excellent frame of mind for the conference. The conference also enabled me to learn from other teachers and to gain an insight into the realities of their classrooms as well as to establish possible future partnerships. The workshops provided me with an opportunity to get project ideas which I intend to disseminate with the teachers in the schools I visit.

Wendy Decelis

I found that this experience was useful since I learned more about inclusion that can play an important role especially when doing an eTwinning project

It was difficult to choose which workshop to attend, since all of them tackled various interesting subjects such as cyber bullying, use of tablets, coding and mobile resources in education.

A particular workshop that I attended, was about the use of video conferencing in eTwinning. During my past projects I used to do various video conferences with other foreign schools so in this session I could learn more how video conferencing can be used throughout the whole project. I also learned how to use various tools such as meeting words and how to organise an eTwinning live event. During ‘Teach meet’ workshop I had the opportunity to view other projects and learn about different tools that were used. One of the tools mentioned that really interested me was ‘Plotagon’ were students can turn written text into animated video. During this session my colleague Ms. Daniela Scicluna and I had the possibility to present last year project ‘Love and Peace’ from classrooms to the world. I found this session really useful since different project ideas were presented, so we learned a lot from each other.

In my opinion this conference offered me a unique opportunity where I shared and learned new ideas with other eTwinners from different countries. I intend to share what I have learned with other educators in the schools that I visit.

Michelle Saliba
Digital Literacy Support Teacher

Having networked with so many diverse teachers all over Europe is already an enriching experience in itself. Having an inclusive mindset ourselves is paramount in "Turning Inclusion into Action"....we are the agents of change...we need to be active ourselves to promote inclusion.

Teachmeet Workshop was very insightful: sharing good practice, our ideas and our projects has been really refreshing. I went came back to school with so many wonderful ideas!

I loved the workshop about Social and Emotional Learning, since the activities we did will certainly enrich my lessons. On the other hand the workshop Everybody's Great, gave us great ideas of how to be more inclusive of everyone in inclusive eTwinning Projects.

The session about Decenralised Technologies was a great eye-opener of how the internet as we know it, is changing drastically.

I really look forward to more eTwinning events. Nowadays, I feel they have become key to my continuous professional development.

Melanie Cini
PSCD Teacher
St. Thomas More Middle School,
Tarxien
