The objective was to generate a pleasant bond between the children and the fables. We promoted situations of exploration, narration, and retelling. Also, we considered the interests of children and their cognitive, affective, social, and cultural characteristics. 
First, they watched and listened to a fable, "The Lion and the Mouse". After watching and listening to the story, students talked and discussed the plot. They reached the main idea of the story line: “The kindness you show has a way of coming back to you, in unexpected ways”. The Lion shows kindness to the playful mouse by not killing him for disturbing his sleep. His act of kindness comes back to him in the form of the mouse's help. Later, we encouraged them to learn new vocabulary by looking at different words they could see on the screen.
Durante la Semana Literaria, Primero y Segundo Grado, celebraron, exploraron y aprendieron sobre la lectura. El objetivo era generar un vínculo ameno entre los niños/ niñas y las fábulas. Fomentamos situaciones de exploración, narración y recuento. Asimismo, tuvimos en cuenta los intereses de los niños/ niñas y sus características cognitivas, afectivas, sociales y culturales.


En la primera Actividad Literaria, vieron y escucharon una fábula, "El León y el Ratón". Después de ver y escuchar la historia, los alumnos/ alumnas hablaron y debatieron la trama. Llegaron a la idea principal de la misma: La amabilidad que muestras tiene una forma de volver a ti, de formas inesperadas. El León muestra amabilidad con el ratón juguetón, al no matarlo por perturbar su sueño. Su acto de bondad vuelve a él en forma de ayuda del ratón. Posteriormente, los animamos a aprender nuevo vocabulario mirando diferentes palabras que podían observar en la pantalla.

They expressed their point of view and agreed that the moral lesson of the story is about being prepared in life. If we study, work hard, and think about the future, we won't find ourselves in the Grasshopper's position. Every effort we make has its reward in life. 
At the end, students completed a worksheet in groups. The main idea of the activity was to share the Literary learning and development between First and Second Form. They learned new vocabulary about the animals in the story.  
It has been very rewarding to share and enjoy the literary development and learning of both grades. En la segunda actividad literaria, vieron y escucharon otra fábula, "Las Hormigas y el Saltamontes". Después de ver y escuchar la historia, los alumnos/ alumnas hablaron y discutieron la trama. Pudieron entender el mensaje y compartieron diferentes ideas. Expresaron su punto de vista y coincidieron en que la lección moral de la historia se trata de estar preparados en la vida. Si estudiamos, trabajamos duro y pensamos en el futuro, no nos encontraremos en la posición del Saltamontes. Cada esfuerzo que hacemos tiene su recompensa en la vida. Al final, los estudiantes completaron una hoja de trabajo en grupos. La idea principal de la actividad era compartir el aprendizaje y desarrollo literario entre Primero y Segundo. También, aprendieron nuevo vocabulario sobre los animales de la historia.



Ha sido muy gratificante poder disfrutar del desarrollo y aprendizaje literario de ambos grados. Los alumnos/ alumnas han desarrollado nuevas habilidades que se potenciarán con futuras prácticas.

Then, they worked with a photocopy related to animals in general, and another copy focused on the story. Finally, we all sang the song "Old McDonald had a farm".
Comenzaron la clase mencionando y describiendo animales. Leyeron la historia "Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?" de Bill Martin, Jr. y conversamos acerca de las características de los diferentes personajes de la historia. Luego, trabajaron con dos fotocopias; una sobre los animales en general y otra más enfocada a la historia. Para finalizar, cantamos la canción "Old McDonald had a farm" todos juntos.
