For all of the questions we were able to compare, the results were similar even though the age groups were different. We can also see that people are now relying more on social media for news and information which can be both good and bad. Both young people and old people use social media for news. Younger people tend to use social medias like Instagram, Tiktok, and Snapchat, while older people tend to use Facebook. I have noticed when using all of these platforms that most of them tend to post information that is more left leaning, but the older generations that use these platforms tend to be more right leaning. Because of social media bringing more awareness to certain subjects, younger generations have become more left-leaning which will definitely impact future elections.

Media apps are basically things we scroll through in our past time and we like seeing things we like or agree with. So if the media can pick up on our political views it is most likely going to share posts and stories in our feed that agree with our political views. But when you are only seeing one side of the story it's really just biased. I think the older generation probably would rather look at the news then look at social media platforms but news networks are also definitely bias.

The results were pretty similar between our results and the other. This shows how media is important to every age group and people are relying on it more. Media is important in politics because it is a very big source of news for a lot of people.

The results from both studies had many similarities even though we were comparing to different age groups. As of most recently, older age groups have started relying more on social media for news along with the younger generations. With more of our population using social media to obtain news, it is important that we do not stay in own little algorithm formulated "bubble," and learn to find different sources.

I do see what they were trying to get across but I don't personally think they did it very well. But they were trying to show how bias posts can be on social media and how you don't see the full story from one post. It can impact us by basically making us think whatever it wants to.

While looking through the different sides of information under the topic of Trump, I found that the conservative side tended to talk more about the "issues" with the people who are against Trump. The conservative sources focus on the past death threats sent to the president. The liberal side tended to talk about the issues with president Trump and controversial things he has done in his past. The conservative side takes the hatred for the president as something that is surprising when it is a thing that goes on no matter who the president is. The liberal side looks over these incidents. Both sides did not give the full picture of the stories which makes it hard to form an opinion.

The liberal side shows mostly information about President Trump himself, while the conservative side presents information about other people and they are being related to the President in some way. This shows the "bubble" by how they are picking and choosing what the put out. As a whole, the "bubble" can definitley limit our intake of information that we could use to formulate ideas/opinons.

The media has a multitude of responsibilities. I think the media should present information about elections. Obviously. However, I think that the opinion that they express is important as well. It does influence and impact lots of people, however it could help a group, or a single person, decide what is better for everyone. Because, without the perspective of someone else, people look out for themselves only. You wouldn't think about how a candidates policies would affect someone else, you would want to know how it's going to hurt/help you. As long as the source is being ethical and is presenting facts, they should be able to share their point of view. They should have specific articles containing facts, and some that are leaning a certain way. So that people have perspectives to compare.

Many people find their news on social media, which not always the most accurent or unbiased source. This leads me to beleive that a large majority of people in the US are incorectly informed with news that might not be true. What is most important, is that individuals check their sources for accuracy. New in social media, has a way of always showing you what you like or agree with. So if you are young and have sertain views, we will only see what you agree with and the same thing applie to older people too. So News has a tremendous role in who you vote for, and the outcome of the elections

I think in the past and even currently social media sources have made it not harder but less encouraging to vote when sources say "don't vote for him/her" but what people really see is "don't vote". so I think that right now the media is doing a good job of supporting the election by telling people to vote but we need to be better about the whole fake news stuff which is hard to understand

The blue side brings light to Trumps mistakes and things he may have said that could cause controversies while the red side focuses on what good he has done. Because of this back and forth of opposite truths it may be hard for some people to see which are true and false. The impact is that one false article about something Trump has done can change a persons whole perspective on him which can have a bad ending. Since these articles are very biased it could be hard for us to form our own opinions of him and instead just believe whatever is posted.

In the US we can tell that most likely, younger people think that media depicts the democracy well, while older people may not. We could infer that since younger people are more likely well versed in social media, that they'll be more apt to get information from it. They might also check more sources since they have easier access. Since older people may not be so well versed, they could just stick with the same paper as always, never getting a new perspective or opinion. This is important when it comes to politics and elections because it shows who could be making a more educated decision when electing someone.

This source really shows who the article is catering to. Another thing that I noticed is how the conservative side is more likely to specifically blame or call someone out. The liberal side seems to offer the accused a chance to explain. This explains why we have these bubble chambers online. Because when you read something, and you like the article, you'll probably look for something that is similar. And with headlines that catch your attention, you can easily fall down that rabbit-hole. These bubbles can have both positive and negative effects. Negative because they can keep people from realizing another perspective and respecting that. Positive because it allows people to have discussions with others who care about topics in the same way. Individually, it's worse because we would never hear anything outside of the screen. But as a whole, it can bring us together with a common issue/cause. Whether that be a good or bad cause.

The Blue side is shouting into the echo chamber about Trumps negative impact while in office, and his past mistakes. On the other hand the Red side is also shouting into the echo chamber, but they have more of a positive approach to Trump. They try to save his image by making him appear to be the victim, for example this bubble contains articles about how Trump has received hate mail and a couple of death threats. As people share their posts, they may see posts that show them exactly what they posted about/what they want to see. This constant wave of like-minded information reinforces a person’s view on a certain topic, which may lead them not to look at any opposing thoughts or views. This bubble divides individuals because if you only see certain topics one way, you will be less likely to have an open-minded discussion about said topic with people with different opinions.

This method will allow people to make up their own minds and create their own opinions about certain topics. If the media continues to be biased, people will begin to have implicit bias because of the place they get their information. For example: people who just look at Fox News, will most likely start to agree with the Fox News’ stance in politics (etc.) because they only look at that one source. Overall, the media’s role in elections and politics should be purely factual, showing as little bias as possible so people can decide their opinions themselves.

This tells us that the media is in fact important in the US and most are starting to rely on it however, most also believe the media may not be supporting politics well. From what we can see about the ways younger and older generations use social media to get the news is that the younger generations usually tend to use social media more often and as both a learning and sharing platform. I also think younger generations tend to be more open-minded while on social media and may be open to more ideas or opinions of others while the older generations tend to stick with what they know for a longer period of time that can sometimes be outdated. With this in mind in politics and elections, I think the younger generation is more likely to use social media as more of an informative place and may even be swayed to a different side or opinion.

From what I can see of the other side, they are trying to counter those attacks from what the other side is saying while also trying to defend themselves and their beliefs. Each side's posts seem to correlate with the rest of that side's beliefs. You don't see many opposing beliefs from the same side and you don't really see the same side disagreeing with each other. Each side is also more likely to put down the other opposing side. This shows the echo chamber as the two sides are only getting news or feed that align with what they believe and are less likely to see something opposing their ideas which in turn may leave them close-minded when not being exposed to those opposing beliefs. If one side happened to be wrong and there was no one that didn't agree with them because of the bubble effect, it makes it harder for them to not only see and notice those mistakes but also to own up to them and learn from them.
