Academics: Curriculum

Add Suggestions/Feedback Here:
1) Increase the 2nd language curriculum (spanish) session per week OR add as an enrichment program offering.
2) Ensure all curriculum (core subjects specifically) are current, not outdated, and parallels top performing/tier schools. Keep pace with the times in the shift in curriculum.
3) Middle school differentiated curriculum - not only math (which is great) but language arts too.
4) Bring back the college/university sports games/days! Great opportunity for kids to be exposed to their future in education, family time and sporting event! In the past they were set up with CLU, UCLA etc.
4) Anything that helps improve the school testing scores/overall education rating the school is currently at, work towards enhancing that.
5) Make the Spanish Language class more conversational so we hear students actually speaking Spanish and having conversations other than just learning a few words.
6) Give a synopsis of school STAR test results on how we are doing as a school, how our scores compare to local and national schools, and what steps for improvement will be implemented.
7) Computer Lab (ie typing/keyboarding class)
8) Robotics & engineering, etc.
9) Powerpoint/Presentation tools taught

Add Suggestions/Feedback Here:
1) Stronger focus on highlighting programs/enrichment on each letter for/towards "STREAM"...esp emerging technology skills.
2) Helping girls specifically in subjects/areas not typically targeted to girls/females in this day in age, so helping them with advantageous programs designed to give them exposure to areas not generally targeted to them, so they should be targeted at an early age (esp math/engineering/tech/etc).
3) Add a Cooking/meal prep type session - age appropriate (more so perhaps focused on prepping healthy after school snacks)
4) Offer "Spanish" class for additional enrichment and fundamentals.
5) Some type of Computer classes
6) Home Economics (table manners, cooking, etiquette)

Add Suggestions/Feedback Here:
1) Create a cheer/dance program (Ie Cheerleader) for younger grades (under 4th) and/or similar other programs that mirror the "older kids" programs, seems like many are tailored towards 4th grade and above but even if just a modified program for littler ones to help them feel a part of the school would be inclusive and fun for them.
2) Do programs/events that promote good stewardships, good citizens, community involvement, social and environmental awareness....IE. work with a program that makes lunches for the homeless, have a 1st/2nd grade bake sale (helps with money learning), some sort of ongoing active recycle program (aside from the crayola drop off one), work with a (Children's) Hospital donating kids art work/making cards for sick hospitalized kids/elderly, etc. Create a buddy system for Kinder/1st graders (have an older grade/maybe 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade buddy they meet with once a week in classroom setting/supervised and do some sort of activity together, would promote team building and collaboration between grades and help foster relationships throughout the grades.
3) Continue the cleaning and beautification of the school that started over the summer. Painting, pulling weeds in the rose beds, etc Spray painting of the hall roof, over spray of the beams inside the hall are areas that need improvement.
4) School Beautification initiative, set goals/project list/fund raise/show school spirit/pride in the school by updating it/give it TLC, etc...get rid of all that storage/trash pile at the playground set, its a sore eye and hazard for kids to play around, doesn't look safe.
5) Bring back the colorful run !
6) Longer Recess time (and/or lunch) by a few min....currently seems short timeframe to allow/promote eating their food PLUS getting a little play time/run around (lower grades).
7) The hall (adult only) restrooms really, really, really need to be addressed. They are in such poor conditions, almost a health hazard.
8) Have an online/social media educational event for parents AND the students together. Taught by a professional-safety etc. Social Media is a big contender for faith and parents these days. How do we compete, supervise, etc?
9) Post panther pad provided snacks on a monthly calendar basis, helps to see what the weekly snacks being provided are.
