Project Root Word Powerpoint onto the board and teach lesson explaining what root words are as well as introducing prefixes and suffixes. Use the Smartboard to make a chart containing a reflection of the root words and affixes that were learned today. This discussion can also be used as an opportunity to reteach anything that needs to be touched back on and to make sure all the students are grasping the concept.
