Are exposed to hazardous equipment and situations that may result in minor cuts and scrapes. Are regularly exposed to sounds and noise levels that are distracting and uncomfortable. They work with machines and equipment that are constantly running. On average a machinist usually works 40 or more hours per week with shifts that last 8-10 hours, even 12 or higher every now and again. So working weekends would be a must-do. It is a mentally demanding job as you have to deal with constant noises, working with other people, and machines running constantly. Most of the time a machinists' job is inside big manufacturing buildings or plants.
