This quotation has always been my motto when it comes to teaching young learners. I believe that in order to establish a sound education system, educators should mentor their students to develop their critical thinking skills and the tools they need to become independent and life-long learners. A great teacher doesn't enforce his/her way of thinking upon students, s/he just arms their students with the skills and tools they need to become healthy and interactive members in their society.

I believe that inspiring educators are aware of the fact that pupils approach learning from different perspectives according to their cultural, socioeconomic and social backgrounds. Thus, providing educational instructions and planning that suit their diversity and different learning styles is a must. In order to be familiar with each student's personal needs and academic level, good educators establish a diverse comprehensive assessment system. This assessment system includes a wide range of assessment methods such as: Authentic Assessments, Portfolios, and Projects... In this way, educators will have a holistic picture of their learners' achievements and progress which will enable them to adapt their instructions according to their students' needs.

Skilled instructors have the gift of making their students not only realize the fact that each one is special in his/her own way but also to embrace that distinction of talents and skills. This will put an end to the process of labeling learners as high achievers or low achievers and exchange that with terms such as: talented in Art,good at sports, skilled in the art of reasoning...

Empowering students will be one of many objectives that I've set for myself in my quest of becoming an effective and inspiring educator. In order to achieve that objective, I will follow these strategies: Giving students the freedom to express themselves and opinions, the space to make their own decisions when it comes to setting their own learning goals and future plans in addition to giving them the chance to reflect on their own progress and achievements. I will judge an educational system to be sound if -and only if-it prepares young learners for their life-long journey of seeking knowledge and accomplishments by teaching them how to think not what to think.
