My pictures are of a letter the superintendent wrote me and medals I have won from sports related events.

This first picture represents individualism because it is something I am proud of. It is a letter from Mr. Hansen congratulating me on a piece of my writing that won a state wide contest open to 5th-8th graders. As a 5th grader at the time, this was a huge accomplishment for me and made our district proud.

This second picture represents individualism because it is a display of my accomplishments. The center medal is from swim state championships, in which I placed 4th fastest swimmer in the state. My picture is of me, one of the only female baseball players on our neighborhood team, with my favorite number on my jersey, "unlucky" 13. Despite the status quo of boys playing baseball and 13 being unlucky, i still loved both. My pictures are of a piece of pottery I painted and a picture of Cinderella's castle that I took on a vacation in California.

This picture represents materialism because when people have a lot of money, they can afford to go to fancy places such as theme parks on a regular basis. Flaunting their wealth by spending it on exclusive trips is definitely a representation of materialism.

This picture represents materialism because back when this was an even larger value than it is today, people cared to show their wealth through even the simplest things as dishes.
