 On the 23rd of May 2017  year 6 went on te MAMA excursion (Aulbury). It was amazing.We had a great language (Wiradjuri) lesson

n that taught alot it was head shoulders knees and toes eyes and ears and mouth and nose.Also we did a memory game that we had to remember the numbers and we had to pick up the number of the pillow.We also had a art lesson and made bark huts made out of:


*skewers
*hot glue guns (to put them together)
*someting like paper bark
*scissrs (to help us fashion the bark huts


At the end of te MAMA excursion I was happy that we learnt language and that i was apart of this memorialble excursion.

the aboriginals used the coolamons to carry it is a curved wooden tray used by the aboriginal women the used it to carry water , dig , hold food and even rock a baby to sleep Coolamons  can be an oval cut-out of bark of some trees or a chunk of trunk or root of some trees that is scooped out by Aboriginal men or women. Box tree, Gidgee tree, red gum tree etc. are seen amongst the timbers used in coolamons

My favourite part was when my group went into the wiradjuri lesson to learn all about their language. We played twister we counted and we sang heads shoulders knees and toes. In the other room we made bark tree huts. That was good because we were able to do any design we wanted to so it was like free time. We  learnt their alphabet sounds and letters.  
A coolamon is an Aboriginal container made of wood or bark, used for holding liquids or goods, or carrying a baby. It is a dish about 30 to 70cm.  

I had an amazing time on this excursion and i hope you all did aswell!!! ;)

On Tuesday we went to the Albury
MAMA gallery and made bark huts using  hot glue guns, kabab sticks
and paper bark. After we had finished paper bark huts we learnt some Wiradjuri language such as head, sholders ,knees and toes and we played simon says we also played a game using pillows for a counting game and we played twister and Steph was the best at it and i was 2nd best and Dakota was 3rd best. When we went out for lunch we were playing chassy and a lady was videoing us play chassy and tacking photos of us eating our lunch, then she was on the phone talking to someone about us.

On this trip we learnt the alphabet in Wiradjuri language, we learnt how to make bark huts and how to count up to ten.

On Tuesday Yr6 students took a trip to albury to visit the MAMA art gallery. Meg and I enjoyed the language lesson the best especialy the pillow game and twister. In the language lesson we learnt heads shoulders knees and toes, colours, right and left in wiryadjuri.
  
Coolamons were traditionally used by Aboriginal women to carry water, fruits, nuts, as well as to cradle babies.

We hope that all year 6's enjoyed their excursion because Cass and I certainly did!!!
