         <title>Senior English: Shakespeare</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I have my seniors write 2 narrative essays on a life experience with a strong reflection -- I allow a variation with an extended metaphor to be the engine driving the reflection.</div><div><br></div><div>They write five (5) &nbsp; 2-page analytical essays on passages from the plays and how these passages reveal characterization.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>They have one creative option for one of these, usually on <em>12th Night</em> with Feste's final song where they can write a song for another character in the play in iambic pentameter.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>They have another option to write one (1) one pager analyzing a speech they will memorize and deliver in class in place of one of the 5 papers above. &nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>They write three (3)&nbsp; 3-5 page analytical essays exploring various prompts dealing with themes, and they must use 2 outside critical sources in addition to the commentary in the Cliff Note Complete edition. I provide some articles in the file section of Canvas that they can access.&nbsp;</div><div><br></div><div>I am having to teach more on citations than in the past, also more on structure of argumentation for analytical papers so they do not just summarize plot and think that is evidence. That is a change from previous years.&nbsp;</div>]]></description>
