On the night before grant was killed all of the boys had been under the influence of either drugs or/ and alcohol. There were 5 boys that went hunting together, Grant Perkins (the one that got shot), John Michael, Shep Moore, Henry Carlisle, and Logan. The boys all reacted in different ways, two crying and one standing in shock of what happened, this could be significant because they’re 4 other boys excluding Grant Perkins and three boys are being mentioned. Personally I think the narrator is the killer and is the one boy not talked about when the author states 2 boys are crying and 1 standing in shock. All the boys are thinking about what happened, and who could have pulled the trigger.

Why is she thinking this way?
Why is she thinking this way?
Because when she asked him did you shoot Grant, his breath lets out a loud rush making her think that shep could be the killer.

Because he is protective of a girl and doesn't understand why. And that some how she fits in the puzzle.

Because she is trying to figure what side would grant be. To find out which side did not like grant.

Because it could be connected to who killed Grant
What inference is she making?
What inference is she making?
She doesn't trust shep and thinks that he could be the killer.

That she doesn’t understand how she fits in the puzzle.

That the four boys are not closer.

Why does he look pissed?

Passage containing Kate’s thoughts:
“Were you the one who shot Grant?” His breath lets out in a loud rush.”No.

Henry is really protective of this girl. And whatever happened to her has something to do with grant.

Four boys in a tight circle, but looking closer, it’s easy to see the divide. Shep and John Michael are on one side and Logan and Henry are on the other.

Shep is the one who surprises me. From this angle, i get an unobstructed view of his face. And he looks pissed. Very pissed.
