         <description><![CDATA[<p>What surprised me is the linkage between health problems or habits such as heart disease and smoking and people with disabilities. This leads me to believe that certain disabilities can be caused by self-inflicted harm such as smoking. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>10.4% of those with disabilities have heart diseases in comparison to only 3.7% of those without disabilities. This may come from a lack of healthcare access for those who have disabilities or damaging attitudes that further propagate the discrimination of disabled people in the medical world. This surprised me that there is such a difference in the numbers.</p>]]></description>

It is both surprising and also makes sense considering that disabled adults in the United States are easily excluded from support systems that keep one in good health. It made me curious if already having these factors can lead to disabilities, or if having a disability only can increase these things.          <description><![CDATA[<p>I was genuinely surprised at the staggering rate of people with disabilities who don't have the proper healthcare that they need. The fact that 1 in 4 don't have a usual provider or that 1 in 6 arent receiving routine checkups. With the complexity of their health being disabled its surprising to me the lack of care they can access. </p>]]></description>
