Latinos approach it with seriousness and think of it as important. Mainly with first generation Latinos who are gonna be the first in the household to make it to university. First generations have it hard because since they're the first to make it, they have no idea where to start. More into the past, many parents came to the U.S to give their kid the best life they can give them. They never made it to college, or even finished high school, which could be why they're giving their kids the opportunity, the opportunity to live a life different to what their parents gave them.

I think their two way Latinos approach education. The first one being that education is very important and expected to go to college and get an education further than what your parents got. Latinos want their kids to be successful and take their education seriously. On the other side some Latino parents expect their kids to put work first to help the family out in our to stay financially stable

Education is very important and taken very seriously by those who are typically first generation. Since a young age education will be introduced to many as very important and something that should be taken very seriously. The reason behind this is that many Latinos who immigrated want a better future for their kids. Many Latino parents want their children to succeed in life so that they don't have to work a 9-5 job in a factory for the rest of their lives. Many have sacrificed a lot along the way and want their children to have a stable career so that they don't have to struggle financially or depend on anyone. Education is something that they value and is considered a privilege to many who can further expand their education.

When it comes to their children and education, they tend to take it very serious. Latino parents want their children to be very successful in life so they push their kids to thrive in school. In my opinion, there are usually more expectations for women in education rather than for men. Some Latino men don't bother continuing with their education after High School because sometimes there isn't a high expectation for them to continue but rather for them to go to work and find success there.

Latinos view education to be the most important thing they can provide to their children. Latinos, especially from our parents' generation or our grandparents' generation, emphasize how important it is to focus on your studies and work hard to be someone at the end of the day. They add how they didn't have the same opportunity or support to have an education when they were younger, so they sacrifice a lot and work extremely hard in order to provide their children the education they never had.

For latinos education is very, very, important. They expect us to have straight A's. Graduating college is a must for them. That's the reason latino parents came here, to give their children a much better life so they expect us to go to school. I think because they did not have the ability to go to school so they want their children to. They don't want us to work our butts off all our life just to earn little money they want us to have an actual well paying career.

Back then it was mainly you do what you can until you are able to work or want to work, if you have the chance to go somewhere big then try it if you want, but now I feel like most Latino family's try to push their kids to do the best they can so they don't have to do all the hard labor most parents have done before as they were adults for their children. They want their children to live comfortable lives which is why education is pushed on their children most of the time.

When it comes to education, Latinos are very big on it, especially the parents. Coming from a Latino family grades are always expected to be above average. And it is frowned upon to not want to go to college. Latino parents that came here to America are always saying how they would have taken the opportunity to finish school if they could, and that they would want the child to have a higher education than they had. That way they would have a good career so that the children could sustain themselves.

Education is a huge thing for Latinos. Many parents want their kids to go to college and get a good stable job in order to be successful in the future. It is a wish they have because many have to work many hours just to be able to make ends meet. They don't want to see their kids struggle in the future like they once had to.

I believe a common misconception is that education is the end all be all of a Latino household. For many families working a blue collar job is the norm and an accepted thing to do. Mostly applying to young men, it can be seen as disrespect to the family to leave the home to pursue an education and be economically successful in that manner. A measure for that way of thinking is rising through the ranks, working hard, and keeping your head down until you've achieved stable, comfortable living.

Every latino has a different approach to education. Some may see getting an education as the only way to get far in life. While others believe getting work experience is more important than an education. But both can relate to work ethic. Latinos expect you to have a strong work ethic no matter what.
