There is such a wealth of knowledge on that platform - from classroom design to sample lesson plans - and it is very easy to find the information you need and save it.

Q2: Twitter as effective PD?
I don't know if I would say Twitter can be used as an effective means of PD, but it can certainly be an efficient means. A lot of that answer depends on what PD you're running and what you hope the students will learn. The hashtag system in Twitter makes it easy for groups to find relevant information on their topic, but I'm not sure it's an incredibly effective tool for teaching.

Jenea Scott

Teachers working in IB schools around the world share Ideas and resources that can be implemented in the different units of PHE.

Q2: On the other hand, I think twitter can be used as an effective professional development tool as I discovered quite a handful of PHE specialists that post resources and ideas daily. They also keep their followers updated on different PHE conferences around the world.

Q1: I think that we need different PLN resource for different things. Google for for research, twitter for expressing one's ideas and LinkedIn to be a member of various PLNs and connect with peers.
Q2: Yes Twitter is a great tool of communication but with a slight setback with the number of limited characters allowed to tweet. That being said I am sure that it is a fabulous tool to exchange ideas while doing a Professional Development.

Joanne King Q1: My top go to PLNs are youtube, Shakespeare Addicts, istafacebook and delnaceyplace. Q2: I definitely think twitter is a great PLN tool / resource - it connects you quickly and effectively with a high number of really useful sources - it's about becoming confident with the hashtag use and getting speedy with the navigation as there is so much out there!
