In Education among other countries in the world, the United States Ranks twenty-fifth in the combined core subjects of reading, math, and science. There is a ton of money that is allocated to the educations systems in America every year, and the return on investment when it comes to the success of student in the classroom is not equal to the amount of money that is being used on the education systems. Teachers, policymakers, and state board members need to collectively decide how the the money can be used to benefit the students in the school system and to maximize the return on investment.

The impact that the current school system has on the mental health of its students is detrimental. Schools are currently a breeding ground for mental health problems such as anxiety and depression. And other issues such as stress are continually plaguing students in their everyday lives. In todays society students have so many problems that they are already dealing with when it comes to their mental health. The School system should not amplify current mental health issues that students are already experiencing. Teachers, and policymakers should work to make the school system an environment that doesn't cultivate stress, depression, and anxiety along with other issues in their students

Engagement from the students is something that is drastically disappearing from the school system. The School system has made attaining good grades the priority instead of students really understanding what they are learning. This can can cause burnout and other issues. Other learning strategies such as hands-on learning has been proven to be a beneficial way to not only educate students, but also to keep them engaged. By not being engaged students aren't retaining most of the information they are being taught. How are students going to be successful in the future if they are not properly retaining the information that they are being taught in the school system. There are other ways to teach students the information that the school system believes that they need to learn that are better then simply throwing information at them.

The Idea that grades are a valid way to measure whether a student is able to learn whatever the teacher is teaching them false. While grades may in some cases indicate that a student does understand the concepts that are being taught, grades simply measure whether a student was able to properly execute the directions that the assignment gave to them. Grades do not enable a student to understand which parts of the curriculum that they may be struggling with. Grades only indicate that a student did certain parts of an assignment well and they received a grade according to that.

The idea that every student will respond well to the current way the school system presents its material is false. If every student was able to respond well to the current way the school system teaches its students, the school system would not be in as bad of a place that it currently is. Each students is different from the next and they may also learn differently. Some students respond better to hands on learning, and others respond to an auditory form of education. And there are those who are able to strive in the current school system. Each student learns differently. Therefore the idea that every student will respond well in the current school system is detrimental to education and the students.

The school system does not promote the level of creativity that students should be exercising is not promoted in the school system. Students should be encouraged to take risks and to express their creativity in their learning experience. Good grades force students to do everything by the book, and not use the full extent of their creativity to learn and solve problems. Students are hindered from using all their capabilities, and are put into learning boxes when it comes to education. Students are not encouraged to take risks because there are only downsides to taking risks when it comes to the education system. Students should be able to take risks and also learn form their mistake without being penalized with a bad grade.

The School system doesn't promote its students to really think outside of the box. There is very little room for sure creativity in the current school system. The school system only enables its students to think in a certain way that will allow them to have success in the school system. It defines success simply by going through the various levels of school at the different stages in life, and once those steps are completed, only then have you become successful. The school system only describes success as academic success in their system, which is not the case.

It is truly a bad situation when the self-esteem and self-worth of students is affected by the school system. Students should not feel like they are not good enough or that they do not have the capabilities that they need simply because they may not be performing well in school. Grades and performance should not be such a big factor in dictating the self-esteem and self-worth of the students. Students self-esteem and self-worth should be enabled to be boosted based on a students ability to be creative, and their creativity being received well. However, the school system promotes the use of very minimal amounts of creativity.

The American School System is failing its students. The school system is not preparing its students for success in the future. The School system does not allow its students to properly grow in their educational journeys. The school system is catered in a way that only promotes one type of learning and education. Due to the fact that not every student may learn the same problems such as mental health issues and other issues form as a result of only one learning style being promoted. The grading system in the current school system does not allow any room for real educational development. Students are in a situation where they are being evaluated by a metric that does not specifically grade them on the various aspects that go into completing various assignments. Students often feel the need to attempt to obtain a good grade, and while that may not be a bad thing to do, sacrifices such as truly learning and knowing how to properly apply the information that is being taught are made. Students are not in an environment that cultivates and promotes thinking outside the box in a way that will allow them to learn in a way that works for the students. Creativity is limited and is only promoted when it may fit into the various lessons. Students are not enabled to use all of their creative abilities to come to whatever conclusions that they need too. The current American School System is filled with various very serious problems. All of these major problems that the school system has are hindering its students from proper educational development, which will result in students not being able to achieve the success in the future that they may have been able to achieve if the school system focused on properly educating its students. State board members, policymakers, and teachers need to look into the current school system and make the changes that need to be made, so that the students who are in the school system will have a better chance to be prepared for success in the future through the education that the school system provides.
