Additionally, I have to be motivated & must set aside time to engage in such learning methods. There must be a weekly commitment and routine that I can follow perhaps.

To be a more self directed learner , I think I can try to apply what I have learn to my daily life and to dedicate some time to really understand the things that have been taught in class and apply it to work. If I am unable to do certain questions, I can check in with peers and prof. To also be curious and learn from peers or colleagues to widen our perspective too :)

Personally, I find that it can be done in the form of pre reading lectures, finishing assignments early to accommodate more time to digest the lectures, and even taking notes during the lecture to better understand it.

I feel I could be more of a self directed learner by asking more questions directly as it can be more efficient than doing a google search and having to filter the answers.

As a student of SUSS, there are way to become self-directed learners. For examples:

• During the course of assignments where research is required, we can use the internet or SUSS’s vast library of information to retrieve all the information we need to collate as input in our assignments.

• In periods prior to exams, we can form study groups to collaborate with others and help each other to better understand a subject or topic. This way can help not just us but also our peers in strengthening our foundation of learning and preparing for our exams as well.

Of course there are more ways, but that will take a month or 2 to explain.. this are just some ways that are suggested.. the choice of way is ultimately in your hands. You hold the power to be creative in the way you learn.
