It encouraged self-reflection, goal-setting, and positive thinking.          <title>Preschool Vision Board</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><br/></p><p>In preschool, we began our vision board project with a circle time discussion about dreams. We talked about what a dream means—something we want to do, learn, or become that makes us feel happy and proud. The children shared their ideas, and together we explored how everyone’s dreams can look different.</p><p><br/></p><p>As we enjoyed our snack, we watched an inspiring video titled Imagine the Impossible, which encouraged us to think big and believe in ourselves. Afterwards, we welcomed a special guest, Ms. Cabrera, who read My First Vision Board book. The story beautifully explained how to dream, set goals, and visualize the things we want to achieve.</p><p><br/></p><p>After reading, I met with each child individually to talk about their dreams. At first, the question “What are your dreams?” felt a bit abstract for preschoolers, so I modified it to make it more age-appropriate: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” From there, we built our class vision board titled “The Future Starts Here.” Each child’s photo and name were added, along with what they hope to be one day—everything from teachers and doctors to pilots  and firefighters. </p><p><br/></p><p>As a class, we discussed how achieving big dreams starts with learning small but important skills—like sharing, communicating, working in centers, and never giving up. The children then cut out pictures representing things they want to learn this year: letters, numbers, shapes, and even swimming or making new friends.</p><p><br/></p><p>Our vision board reflects both who we hope to become and the little steps we’re taking each day to get there. The children beamed with pride as they saw their dreams come together on one big board—a beautiful reminder that the future truly starts here.</p><p><br></p>]]></description>

It was inspiring to see how thoughtful and creative they were while thinking about who they are, who they want to become, and what steps they might take to get there.</p><p>This activity was more than just cutting and pasting—it helped them reflect on their values, set intentions, and start thinking about the choices that shape their paths. And this activity will keep growing... </p><p>I'm so proud of the focus and enthusiasm they brought to this project. Their commitment to imagining their futures was truly something special!</p>]]></description>

Ms. Cabrera visited our classrooms to share a story about vision boards and how they can help us picture our goals and dreams for the future.</p><p>After the read-aloud, we had thoughtful discussions about what it means to have goals, things we want to learn, try, or achieve, and how we can work toward them step by step. Then, students created their own vision boards using printed pictures and words that represented their goals, interests, and dreams.</p><p>The process encouraged reflection, creativity, and conversation about perseverance and confidence. Even at a young age, students begin to see that setting goals gives them direction and motivation, and that their actions can help bring those goals to life.</p><p>Vision boards are a great way to foster a growth mindset and connect academic learning with personal development. This activity also supported social-emotional learning by helping students identify what inspires them, what they’re passionate about, and what kind of learner or person they want to be.</p><p>Our classrooms are now filled with bright, inspiring boards that capture our kindergarteners’ hopes and dreams. It’s a small step toward helping them see that their goals truly matter and they are actively working towards them.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>From Vision Boards to Concrete Goals</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>"<em>We are 42% more likely to achieve something when it’s written down with clear steps - and that likelihood grows even more when we have an accountability partner.”</em></p><p><br/></p><p>This week, our 5B students took an exciting leap from&nbsp;vision boards&nbsp;to&nbsp;goal-setting! After exploring their dreams and aspirations, they worked to define one specific goal, outline detailed action steps, and plan regular check-ins with accountability partners.</p><p><br/></p><p>Yesterday, we discovered that while vision boards help us see where we want to go, goals give us the&nbsp;map to get there. Students revisited their boards and transformed one of their dreams into a SMART Goal - making it&nbsp;<strong>Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-bound</strong>.</p><p><br/></p><p>Soon, our classroom walls will proudly display these SMART Goals as daily reminders of the journey ahead. We look forward to revisiting them often, celebrating progress, and supporting each other in turning our visions into reality for the 2025–2026 school year!</p>]]></description>

         <title>Performing Arts Vision Board </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>This week, 3rd grade created vision boards to express their personal goals, inspirations, and dreams in music. </p><p><br/></p><p>Each student reflected on key questions like: </p><p>-What do I love most about music?</p><p>-If I could do anything in music, what would it be? </p><p>-What instruments do I want to learn?</p><p>-What inspires me musically?</p><p>-What kind of music do I want to make? </p><p>-What do I want to improve upon this year in music? </p><p><br/></p><p>The room was full of creativity, passion, and imagination! From wanting to sing with more confidence and improve their vocal range, to learning how to read music and understand rhythms and notes, students shared personal goals that show just how motivated and passionate they are. </p><p><br/></p><p>Students were inspired by their dreams of becoming music producers and performers, to learning piano, drums and guitar. Many also expressed a strong desire to write their own songs, perform on stage, and grow their musical knowledge. </p><p><br/></p><p>I'm looking forward to help bring these goals to life. </p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

We began by reading <em>What Do You Do With an Idea</em> by Kobi Yamada, which taught us an inspiring lesson that every idea, no matter how small, strange, or uncertain it seems, has the power to change the world if you believe in it and nurture it. Inspired by this message, students reflected on what they hope to learn, do, and become, whether it’s discovering a new skill, traveling to a new country, or exploring a future career. To bring their dreams to life, they began creating vibrant Vision Boards that beautifully showcase their hopes, goals, and bright ideas for the future! Together, they expressed what they would like to learn, reflected on how they can be successful, and shared ideas on how to accomplish their goals. It was a fun, creative, and collaborative activity where everyone contributed with enthusiasm and teamwork.          <description><![CDATA[<p>My 2B students created their very own vision boards, and it was truly an inspiring sight to see. Each student filled their board with dreams, goals, and colorful images that reflected their hopes for the future. As they cut, glued, and shared ideas with one another, the classroom buzzed with creativity and optimism. It was heartwarming to watch them visualize their potential and express confidence in who they want to become. Their enthusiasm reminded everyone that big dreams often start with small, imaginative steps — and that the future really is bright in the hands of such motivated young learners. After completing their vision boards, the 2B students reflected on how to turn their dreams into realistic, achievable goals. They broke big ideas into small steps—like working hard, staying kind, and trying new things. It was inspiring to see them transform their visions into action, showing that even the biggest dreams start with simple, steady effort.</p>]]></description>

They enjoyed cutting out images and using stickers to express their visions. We concluded the activity with a SMART Goals reflection assignment.
